hey everyone, i recently decided that it was time to shed mass amounts of body fat and contacted jodi and she suggested that i go on a cut... so basically i've eliminated all sugar from my diet and lowered my fat and carb intake... now my question is... are certain foods better to eat at certain times of the day? like what are the best things to eat before training and after training... i just started the diet today and got home fairly late from the gym (11 PM) and was stuck on what i should eat... i opted to go with last nights left over veggies... but yeah, for those who know how to cut properly... what time of day should i be eating certain foods?

thanks a lot for your help... really looking forward to the results of this diet :)

Actually you told me you wanted to cut. :) I would never tell anyone they should cut. Its to each your own discrection and how satisfied you are with your body.

Now to answer your question. It really doesn't matter. What time are you going to bed if you don't get home til 11 PM?

I like cottage cheese before bed. The casein protein digest slowley in your stomach. A protein shake with some flax will work well also. Just not to many carbs because they will create an insulin spike wich will get in the way of your body realeasing growth hormone during the 3rd and 4th hours of REM. Some protein and fat is key and maybe a small amount of slow burning carbs.

Yeah, what Funky said. :p

I was asking about your bedtime because I didn't want to see you swig back a sugar filled PWO shake before bed. :)

hey jodi,

i just told you i wanted to lose body fat and you suggested i go on a cut... so yeah, i guess it was my decision but without your help i wouldn't even have known what to eat :P

well last night was an exception... i rarely train that late and am usually in bed by 11 or 12... i usually work 9-6 but sometimes it's only 12-6 in which case i like to stay up for a couple extra hours :)

i also have a question about yogurt

the stuff my mom buys is sugar free, fat free yogurt... would that be ok on a cut?

and what's the deal with aspertame? as far as i know it's just a sugar replacement but is it ok on a cut?

It still has carbs that come from dairy. I don't suggest it.

Ok!
