I plan on upping my intensity in my training at the first of the year. With the work that I do, it is virtually impossible to gain, and difficuly to maintain this time of year.

that being said, what are some of the best supplements to take in order to gain mass without so much fat. I would love to slim up the gut, and even thought about going to "cut" route in January and jump on the bulk route in February

I've tried creatine, m1t, and other prohormones...some worked well, some didn't...

27 years old
5'9"
170 lbs
15% body fat (most in the gut...create good defintion in arms and chest easily)
workout 3-4 times weekly, moderate intesity...

Well the supplement that has worked for me has been food. Suggest you start by evaluating your diet first instead of looking for the "magic" pill.

couldn't agree with you more...

I still would like to know what's best when I want to start taking supplements again.

for the most part, my diet is pretty good. I need to cut out sodas and some of the snacks and eat bigger portions of the high protien and veggies, then I'll be set

Honestly, from my first year of experience... don't waste your money on supplements - outside of protein and a mult-vitamin.

My experimentation has been unfruitful. No significant difference.

Diet is the key, I think.

You really need to stop drinking soda. That $hit is loaded with empty calories. Increase your protien and good carb intake and always work with super intensity.

Agreed. Nothing will make you lose fat like the proper diet. I went from 220 to 160 on diet alone. I am bulking now, and use supplements, but food is still key.

thanks for the advice guys...I knew my diet always held me back...

I'm not a coffee drinker, so I tend to reach for the Coke for my morning caffiene...I'll just have to fight through the cravings...

try green tea, it might take a while to get used too but its very good for you.

I don't drink coffee either so soda was my vice. I quit drinking soda 20 months ago and don't miss it one bit. Once in a while I will drink a Sprite or 7-UP but nothing with caffiene.

Definately start out in the diet sub-forum first, and get a diet set. Then you may want to look into whey protein and creatine for now.

I am going to go with Big Poppa because you did ask for a supp and not a diet routine.
