AM Cardio

Ok, i decided to start doing some cardio in the AM. I will be doing it on an empty stomach. How worried do i have to be about muscle breaking down. Is there anything i could eat before to stop the muscle from breaking down. Only thing is i dont wanna wake up a half hour before i do my cardio just to eat. Any suggestions?
 
Drink a protein shake right before you start your cardio, I've seen a couple of the guys on the board suggest this to other members. Apparently, it'll minimize the muscle loss or something along those lines...
 
if you are planning to do HIIT cardio than you should eat before and after you workout. these meals should be similar to what you normally eat pre and post workout (protein+carbs). Fasted state cardio is not all its cracked up to be unless you're seriously obese.
 
If i have a shake and then jump on the elliptical immediatly after, will the food even be available to stop my body from breaking down muscle? I was under the impression that it would take a half hour for food to effect you, by that time im already done with my cardio.
 
To burn fat only have nothing.

To maintain muscle have a shake.

Anything 20 minutes or less should not be worried about anyhow.
 
Is it really good to do AM cardio without a meal for weight loss for a obese person?
 
Whether your obese or not you never want to lose muscle. I would say try without food first. Some people get sick from doing this, I see it all the time at my gym. If you can do the cardio on an empty stomach try that for a little bit then try it with some food/whey in you for a while. See which one works best for you. No one can say which works best for someone, you just sorta need to experiment.

The best thing to lose wieght is consistancy (sp?). If you can stick to the diet and excersise you will lose the weight.

If you can stomach working out on an empty stomch, add around 800mg of phophatidylserine to prevent cortisol from running rampant, especially if your cardio is long.
