NEW YORK (Reuters) -- The U.S. Army has long lured recruits with the slogan "Be All You Can Be," but now soldiers and their families can receive plastic surgery, including breast enlargements, on the taxpayers' dime.

The New Yorker magazine reports in its July 26th edition that members of all four branches of the U.S. military can get face-lifts, breast enlargements, liposuction and nose jobs for free -- something the military says helps surgeons practice their skills.

"Anyone wearing a uniform is eligible," Dr. Bob Lyons, chief of plastic surgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio told the magazine, which said soldiers needed the approval of their commanding officers to get the time off.

Between 2000 and 2003, military doctors performed 496 breast enlargements and 1,361 liposuction surgeries on soldiers and their dependents, the magazine said.

The magazine quoted an Army spokeswoman as saying, "the surgeons have to have someone to practice on."

Damn, watch all the girls start enlisting!

This has been going on for a VERY long time. Basically, if you supply the parts (implants), the military will install them. As it said in the article, the patients are doing the doctors a favor by keeping their scalpel skills sharp. (Pun intended. :D ) So, if you don't mind being a guinea pig, you can get be that size DD you always wanted to be.

I Call Busllshit. Ive Been In For 20 Years And Never Heard That. Shit, They Will Barely Do Lasik Surgery. Think Its A Bs Article. Not Real

I agree with MTN Warrior, if liposuction was aloud, then they wouldn't put all the fat marines on remedial PT and and kill them physically for 6 months.

My father had his ears pulled in by the Army back in the 60's, they used to stick out like Dumbo. I was scheduled for cosmetic dental work during my time in the Navy but the waiting list was too long.

I know about the dental work and all that, but breast implants and liposuction, I never heard of that.

Completely true. Liposuction has no use in the real world of combat surgery, making incisions and properly closing them does, as does reconstructive surgery. I know someone personally that had a lift done many years ago in the Army, specifically for surgeon training.

Sorry guys, no B.S. here. It's completely true. I know three women who all had breast implants, another who had lipo and (hold onto your hats boys and girls) I had a nose job. To be completely honest, it got broken on the job so they were obligated to do SOME sort of repair, but they actually made me even more beautiful than I was before. :D

Ahahahahahahahahahaha, ahahahahahahahahahahah, ahahahahahahahahahahaha

Fag.

:haha:

What's so funny? Dale's the biotch who got the lipo.
