Ancient 'pact' caused earthquake, says televangelist Pat Robertson

the above from a bikeforums site where i am cbhungry

In regards to pollution control, we're already doing that. We have since the 1970s and we're getting better all the time. Yeah, it shiek to talk poorly about ourselves (Americans), but we're doing an okay job. Have we reached our goals on pollution? Of course not, but we are well on our way.

Even our worst cities have nothing on the worst cities around the globe.

true, i look at my mother country china who are one of the worse offenders. Not saying americans aren't doing a good job, it's just that public health care expenditure ( hospital admissions, missed school days, etc. are more concrete reason to work on decreasing our dependance on the finite supply of polluting oil . As a bicyclist, of course, I am a big advocate of biking to work ( I do 32 miles round trip using headlights and tail lights since i commute in the dark in a city that is viscious towards bicyclists) It keeps me in racing shape.

Yeah, the current US has nothing on China. They're like the us back in the 60s. Maybe worse.

I was happy when the price of gas was ~$5. At that price, alternative energy sources start to look affordable. I hope it gets back up there again. Few things would make me as happy as having the OPEC tank.

Several years back I biked to work for the entire summer. It was about 10miles each way. I had 2 or 3 close calls each week.
