Any ideas on reducing mmbrshp fees ?

Any one have any ideas on getting a reduced membership fee ?

I've recently moved to an area where the only gym that's convenient is going to cost me $250 enrollment plus $50 a month .

I'm not really willing to pay that amount . It's ridiculous .

Was your old gym a franchise. Around here lately I've seen them offering discounts if you switched to there gym from your current one.

Wave it in front of there face a bit that you don't have to use there's and you can go somewere else. Even if it isn't as convenient

No way in Hell!! That's a rip man! When I joined my new gym last November they wanted like 150 enrollment and 39/month. I ended up nothing up front and 20/month! That is a super deal!! Usually you should be able to find one for around 30/month! But usually that is a two year contract unless you pay in full up front!

Not too bad of an idea . I'll give it a shot . Am i out of line thinking those fees are a bit out of control ?

Right now Golds out here is still a good deal at 37/month with no signup and no contract. But there are only 6 in the area I'm at.

But yeah 30-40 I think should be the normal monthly now days,

You're a Cop right ? Did you mention that when you signed up ?

BTW the place is called Lifetime Fitness , it's got all sorts of crap in there i would never end up using such as a pool , Rock climbing wall ( might do that for kicks ) basketball , racetball .

I just want a weight room that's not run by a bunch of clowns !:yell: Is that too much too ask for ???

I stay away from franchised gyms. Private gyms can set thier own pricing and are usually less expensive.

you can usually get partial refund from you medical insurance provider.

In NYC, I pay $80/month, but I am switching to a powerlifting gym (Iron Island) at $325/year.

Allthough I am not a member of a gym the great thing about this country is Free Market Economy. No price is ever set in stone. I would ask to talk to a manager or someone in a position to bargin over the membership fee. Find out some prices of other gyms even if they are not that close to home and use that info to make them a reasonable deal. I bet they would rather have some of your money than nothing at all.

I would love to be where you guys are the nly gym where I live is at this pansy rec center where they only have machines and dumbells, and one bench. No squat rack. So I said screw it and made my own gym in my basement.
