Any nattys !

350 is a respectable weight for anyone, man I wish my shoulders would let me do this again. 315 on a good day is all thay have left in them.

I agree. I always smile when I see people above 315 (took my years to get past that, then again I didn't know then what I know now).

My partners aren't in the 300 club yet, but I have high hopes for them come spring. Unfortunately they will not be achieving it naturally. Not really sure how I feel about this (Out of 10 years training almost all of it was natural). However, I am not a purist and could care less about their usage of AAS. I just hope to help them achieve their goals and maintain them as much as possible

(The below chart is from Rate Your Bench Press According To Your Bodyweight - Average bench press ) Not sure about its validity but looks decently accurate.

Kind of sloppy but for clarity
if you are 198lbs to be world class your bench should be around 435lbs
A good list but the jump from College Star to Natl. Class is far too much.....this might be where they consider steroids are being used.

A guy who is 220lbs and can bench 485 natty is far above Natl. Class, that is the top of world class.

i benched in a local gym competition (entered it just like that for fun unprepared) 315 i was 74 kg with clothes that is less than 165 lbs...(competition benching ..no bouncing no cheating)
i got 4th there were 9 competitors.
later on i got stronger but 10 lbs heavier

Gissurjon,

I am no longer all natural, but when I was I was able to get 350lbs. Not really sure the purpose of your thread (were you looking for advice on getting to or past 350?). I am assuming that is your intention.

1) I had to stop drinking-- Being that I am in a college town that was quite a chore.
2) Say your prayers, and take your vitamins. I was eating a lot (weighed about 185lbs), taking multivitamin, creatine, other "natural" (non-AAS) supplements
3) Trained hard.

Training (my advice here is all from memory, so its not 100% accurate but you will get the idea:
Lets say your base bench is 315lbs which is what mine was for a good 5-6 reps. And you want to get 350lbs in 6 weeks.
Week 1: 315lbs - 2-3 sets with that weight (not counting warmups)
Week 2: 335 - 2-3 sets
Week 3: 315 - 5 sets, increase reps
Week 4: 335 - 5 sets, increase reps from week 2
Week 5: 345lbs - 1-2 sets
Week 6: 350lbs - Get that big girl!

Basically what I try to do from one week to the next is Increase my weight, then go back down and increase reps, then increase weight again and keep doing that until I reach my goal.
I also utilize the smith machine. Say you want the 350lbs. After you do the 2-3 sets on flat bench go to the smith machine, put the heavier weight on (350lbs) and do negatives. This will help prepare you.
It isn't a science, may not work for you. But I think it is worth a shot!

Purpose was just to make conversation.

Friend of mine did 308 paused bench the other day at 180 bodyweight. Great rep. He did 319 not paused, still touched to the chest. Guy is a beast at benching.

Best i've done is 270 paused at about 195 bodyweight, so some ways to go yet.

How tall are you? I posted a video on here benching 315 when i was around 195 if I remember correctly, but I'm 6'3. I'm kind of surprised your numbers aren't higher but then again I figure you for a guy who emphasizes balance over excelling in one exercise.

i was natural for the longest time i did 3 yrs in jail and weighed 165 and benching 315 1 x not bad for my weight then i did the juice when i came out and studddied it for 2 years before i did a cycle the book the Jose Canseco wrote in jail i read it and it got me to want to do it lol

I did the natty thing for quite a while. Just before I turned 25 I broke in to the dark side. I did bench 295 natty but being on is a whole other level. Props to those who reist the urge to give in. I just got back on after being off for the better part of 2 years.

Why not? 3 plates is respectable but not extreme. It did take me 3 years to get there but then again 9 months of these 3 years did not involve strength training at all due to 5 herniated disks plus the fact that I am not heavy for my height and only use dumbells. I don't have problem with steroids, I have a problem with not exhausting the natural way first, guys that prematurely start shooting up while still actually in the beginning phase of weight lifting.

Yeah I'm natty right now but so damn tempted to join the dark side, especially being on here with all you big fuckers and hearing all the crazy results...

Ive been lifting for about 7 years and feel I got a good base. I think If I ran a few cycles I would blow up! Check my profile I got a couple pics up. Let me know what u think bro?

my roommate's natty, 200 lbs and fat, benched 430 raw. Only 22. Incredibly strong kid. I wouldn't trade bodies with him though.

I really really really think alot of people don't bench properly which leads to shoulder issues. Of course, it is a high tension exercise and we all want big numbers.

Being at or around 245, I don't even talk about my bench, or any of my lifts. People in my little gym think I'm being modest when I say, nah that's really not a lot for a man my size. I'm serious... But they don't understand. Fitness 19...anyone moving 3 plates or more is doing something big! It gets tiresome. I'm just trying to work for my individual goals, not show out. I'm like, there's guys 100lbs less than I weigh benching 100 lbs more!

what is that spotting you?

dont look 210

good lift though

Haha thats my sister in-law

Are you saying I look lighter than 210 or heavier ? Don't forget I'm comming out of a nasty back injury which put almost all lower body work to a halt.

I think it's really hard even if you're consistent. I rarely see people who can bench 350 with a full range of motion.

Really? I feel as though 350 is not out of my future range, and I pretty much suck at everything except consistency, haha.

I don't bench properly but am a monster. Learning proper form and technique now. Difficult for me though, really need an in-person strength coach
