hi , guys are any of you thinking of doing a competition this yr or next yr? if so, i would love to hear your training tips and how to cut, harden, striations, dense, but still stay thick and only lose a little size in the process? anybody willing to share, not interested in wat show your doing as anonimity is number 1 but tell me wat your doing gear wise and just your overall plan 12 weeks out from your competition. ill be 305lbs w/ 14%bf looking to get down to 250- 260 at 4-5 %bf if u got any ideas lets throw shit around to see wat your doing. if like richard gears, pyes, mdr, SD, the ones that might go into competition or how they got so cut , loved your input deffently. mdr how did u bulk up to i think ur at 260 now. thnx fellas?:clapping:

Man, you are way bigger than me. I hope you reach your goals and cut down after you are finished bulking. I'll have a feeling you'll get that pro card you want. I'm still at least a year away. Gotta see if I can stay healthy after the disc replacement last year. I've never really done a contest-prep cut coming from the powerlifting world, so I have a lot to learn about getting down that lean. It would be kinda fun to try at my age, though. I can't wait to see you in contest shape; I'll bet you'll blow 'em away.

i seen your picture mdr your hugh as i said on the thread who was giving you a hard time. i told him i seen the size of u. but anyway thnx bro for the props. yes i showed SD but he said i was hugh also but i still am small in my eyes i got muscledysmorphia and i hope in 2 shows i can get my ifbb pro card. iam no where near the top 50 but top 75- 200 but i dont care its my dream to get my pro card. as its yours MDR you got a great chance brother. i no irish is npc cause i seen him i think on another place hes big to. and legend hes got a placing in his weight class . hes got wat it takes. i like his pre contest diet. and diet i mean drug diet lol. so good luck to all. mdr your 260 now yes?

lol,I will compete at novice middleweight 1st show ever below 184 :mooh: I'm currently 207ish 15% bf,24 years of age. I will slowly start easeing my way down there gonna be tough but I will manage.I will start useing better cutting drugs once i'm below 10%bf like masteron,winny,keto.My show is npc in may so I have plenty of time to bring up my arms,traps,chest

Yep-I weigh in for the week tomorrow, so we'll see. I'm trying to bulk like crazy right now. I know what you mean about the muscle dysmorphia. I never feel like I have enough size. My legs are still a bit weak after the back surgery (size wise), so I need to bring them up. My upper body always comes up faster. Shoulders could be better. I can't use a lot of weight for overhead pressing movements 'cause it tends to compress my spine. I have a lot of width in my back and chest from all the years of powerlifting, but bodybuilding is a whole different animal. Gotta bring everything into balance. Never really thought about all that stuff too much. Like I told you before, I've never even taken a cutting cycle at all, so that would be interesting. I guess the main thing is staying healthy and avoiding injuries at this point, and we'll see after a few months.

back surgery gotta suck your still at it so your golden in my book.I got sidelined for a while from a tator cuff injury.I been back at it for a few months now.Injuries all part of the game.
 
^^^^yes shave your chest bro, its big just if u shave it it look alot bigger , as u know hair hides alot. npc thats great, iam still at states level. your legs are great and on a advice without disrespect side, ur arms just focus on them, and calves to match your quads. the rest is just " after the tought stuff" but u got till may. no pics required as it might draw attention but obviously u dont care lol. but ya, i like it. oh u mentioned taned. they got shit out mt2 for darking the skin i think. i might have the name wrong as i get dark as hell without nothing. but i do get the spray treatment before a show to go with tanning beds. gtg on your progress. i got till june for mine.

No doubt. I've had impingement issues in both shoulders and a bad knee from football, but the back deal scared the hell out of me. Both legs went numb, and the lower disc was sticking out of my back like a horror movie. Couldn't walk at all. They did the MRI and scheduled the surgery right after. The surgeon called me and asked if I could be at the hospital that day. Guy was great, though. Amazing what they can do these days. Just glad I avoided any kind of fusion,

i started my diet around 205-210 (arms were just over 18" then) and by aug 13th after about 8 weeks i was roughly 172-174 at 5'5" (arms had shrunk to barely 17"......i've taken off completely since due to going back to college at night and working all day......i'm starting training again this week, but i'm not dieting again until january (after the good holiday food lol!)


i've got many more progress pics over the last two years on OLM as well as on my laptop (which is being cleaned right now)

i dont go to high of weight as my knees are bad so now i stay at 225- 240 no more but i do a great amount of weight on leg press. i just , like u, try and stay injury free bro. but u dont need to go real heavy if u got that mass already. 315 on bench thats enough, arms are watever, but the forearms is wat can fuck u up on your movements, but i wrap mine , but u had a bad surgery to go through, ur lucky ur even lifting more or less trying to go pro. cutting is wat i got a trainer for and here i think i can get alot of ideas. and built is very good with dieting, even though she dont like me lol. but i hired a trainer now my wife is training with us and shes doing good and wants to try var at 20mg ed with aldactone 50mg. she is doing very well. but her thing down there always has a split and i was telling her it and she can be thick sometinmes, tatiana your pussy crack is hanging OUT OF YOUR PANTS, but thats why guys were watching her when she benched. lmfao. anyway good luck to all u guys and keep sharing.

I'm thinking of interval training for cardio like sprinting then jogging several times untill im laying in someones lawn dry heaving.Any advice??
 
Try Tabata, but ease into it. It will kick your ass if you try to do too much at first. Also, I think you're better off doing it on a stationary bike or something like that. The less technique required the better.

So do a warmup of about 3-5 easy minutes, then do 20 seconds of max effort followed by 10 seconds of easy effort. Repeat the 30 second cycles a few times and then cooldown. As you get better you can add more intervals but at first I think getting 3 or 4 is a good result.

tabata protocol, bro iam sorry i dont even know wat that is? and i know your a powerlifter iam a bodybuilder as i wouldnt know the first thing how you or fellow powerlifters train? i got someone training me from now until competition time. i train 1 body part a wk but i train calves and abs ed. on days iam at the gym. iam not as strong as a powerlifter but iam like u give a dance to anyones training. i do a 4on 1 off and 3on 2 off program. sometimes i switch it up. but i try to stay with that schedule for 8- 12 wks then change exercises and days i train to keep the muscle shocked. iam open to new things, if u got anything for traps? i read your post but i fucking forgot where it was on hang cleans and db rows bent over? those sound gtg as my traps are lagging from doing shrugs just with barbell, but did change to e-z curl bar upright rows. iam 6'1" 290 about now. its mostly water and fat to a point , but not the fat that stays locked in, if that makes sense to ya? its great you came over gtbmed, i would love someone that does power to give some traps exercises, any former or anybody got trap ideas to offer.

got it, will try it and see. i dont want to lose to much weight till i hit 305 then its go time. but i will try it on the stationary bike i think my wife will like this. anything for hangcleans and bent db rows, traps? oh, i cant do chins up iam to heavy now. but i can hang there lol. give me a link for hangs and bentover db rows to show proper form please ?

gtbmed, i seen the traps thread, very gtg. one question before i incorperate it on my next trap day, do i have to go to a squatting position or just bypass that and just use my trap/ back muscles to pull it up to my shoulders? i dont want anymore undue strss on my quads and knees as on squatting days cause i can only squat w/o pain 225- 240 so how about it leave the squat out? thnx brother.
 
I'm not really a powerlifter man but I'm thinking about getting into it. I still play sports and want to get back into competitive stuff again. So I lift mostly for the sports I play, that's another reason I don't want to get too big.

I try to stay as lean as I can but I don't have the dedication you guys do to lay out all of the food and eat like a horse. I don't eat much and I hate to gain weight so bodybuilding isn't really my thing.

No, you don't have to go all the way into squat position.

People do the squat because it's the best way to get the most weight onto your shoulders. But if you're just doing them for muscle development, it won't matter if you don't squat down like that. Just bend your knees a bit when you catch it.

I got a couple shows in the spring I am going to do. Then I will focus on a very hard and effective offseason.
