I was thinking about taking it up. I am 18 years old. 5'10 and 250 lbs and am on a competition with about 8 family members to see who can lose the most body % over the next year (the ones competeing (aunts, uncles, cousins, ect) are all over weight) so i was thinking about taking up the Rice diet. The reason for this is that i know rice is mostly water after being cooked and i do keep a regular workout of 1 hr of cardio + 30 - 60 minutes of weight lifting (5 times a week) thus i would sweat alot of the water off. I was thinking that with the diet i can also throw in some cooked shrooms and over vegies (along with a hint of soy sauce) to spice it up a little lol. As it sits now, ive been constantly working out this year, but haven't lost much at all, so i need the diet to support it. Any tips?

I would start with the stickies and design a balanced diet.

Look, all of these:
Rice Diet
Water Diet
Atkins Diet
Poop Diet..

These things never work, and any diet program you pay for is useless.
Our bodies are different, but generally you can go low on fat/carbs and high on proteines while bulking..

Good luck, and stay away from myths and diets for money things..

It's your body.

I eat a ton of rice.....i love mixing it with stuff :). But Rice all day every day would be sickening. I mix it up with oats and potatoes wohhoooo! If you used it as your only carb i would imagine you would be just fine. But you cant forget other essential foods ;)

Rice mixed with oats and potatoes... Hmm... You're from CarbCrazy.com right?

Big G, where the hell have you been? How's the drinking and progress going?

ABC.... Bad, Dude. Kidney failure. Scared the f*&^ out of me. All better now. I did my first workout without excrutiating head-pain today. Man it felt good. I'm going to add the juicy details of the whole ordeal/diagnosis/cause/symptoms/prevention (dot dot dot!) to my "R-E-A-L-L-Y Bad Head Pain" thread that I posted a while ago.

I damned near died though. Seriously. When I got out I just about cried at the sight of the sunshine. I didn't know if I was coming out at all there for a while. Or, maybe worse, to be stuck on dialysis for the rest of my life. The doc said it was close.

And the cause... Working out too much. Dehydration. Protein intake. Supplements.

I'll tell you more in the "headpain" thread. Everyone should know the shit I've learned in the past couple of weeks.
