I agree that it wasn't self-defense, more along the lines of retaliation.
But the arguement that they should act like professional just because they are paid is crap. Everybody should act like professional, paid or not. Nobody was raised to throw things on anybody or was raised to hit people, without their consent.
It's going to hard for the league to penalize the fans, but they gotta find a way, cause this issue can be a pandora box for future problems.
This problem is bigger than a Sports problem, it's a society problem.
