Building the muscle is not going to lean it out. Might make u thick. Diet will lean you out. You can also build up your upper back to create a better V-taper, and subsequently, the perception of a narrower waist.

Would help to know what you do now, and if your'e trying to lean out, what is your current diet?

Wow, Sassy, look at those hammies, I think they're beautiful.

Ceazur, what's up devil dog?

My man, back from afghanistan and back to training, huh! diet, diet.. If you want a better lower back.

Ooh rah! What's up iron. You know I gotta get my swole on. Sassy, I eat pretty healthy but it's so various an absolute no structure to it. My lower back due to my wide hip bones has a little pudge. I have a pretty good 6 pack an I'm in great condition, just need to thin out that lower back.

If its pudge, its fat and / or water. How old are you? As you get older your body tends to start holding fat in that area. I have a friend who has been competing for 25 years, maintains a year round bodyfat around 5-6% and cuts down to stuff like 3.4% bf. He's over 40 now and has just recently started noticing that he has to fight to get rid of the kidney fat. Its still diet. That's not really an area you have a lot of hypertrophy in , so IMO you're still talking about bodyfat. Doesn't matter if you can see your abs. If that's where your body tends to store a higher concentration of fat cells, or where you hold water, then that's diet. I'd also present the first thing judges look at in the rear poses to determine quality of conditioning in a BB show - lower back. If you have creases and don't see a Xmas tree, then its water and / or fat.

Aight, good to go. I'm 22 an I'm a devil dog. I run 20+ miles a week, lift 4 days a week, don't drink or smoke an eat cleaner than 90% of America. But I agree it's gonna be up to diet. I just don't have luxury of Being able to have a well structured diet due to time/work. Thanks for advice Semper Fi

Then I'd suggest if you can post your current typical day's meal plan w/ total cals & macronutrient breakdown and we can look for a couple little tweaks to optimize to get down a couple % bodyfat w/o any big change to your general time & resource constraints.
