Becoming a personal trainer

What about ACE? It's the cheapest, yes, but if you are already knowledgable on fitness and nutrition, and you just need a certification legally, why not just go for the most cost efficient one?

i got ACE...its more generalized and accepted just about everywhere.

imo its not really worth it unless you own your one studio of some sort.

but if you can get some good clients that actually bust their ass then its fun...frustrating when clients are like "ya i stay on my diet" but hit up mac ds all the time!!!

You personal train through a gym or on your own?

both. on my own is more profitable thats for sure

Cool, I'm about to get hired through a gym to personal train but I wasn't sure If maybe I'd just be better off doing my own personal training, I figure a gym wouldn't like that though.

cool guys thanks for the input i was thinking about getting certified and then finding a studio with cheap rent. What do you set your prices at?

I would suggest one that is accepted virtually everywhere. NSCA, ACSM, and NASM certs are all widely accepted. ACE and ISSA are also pretty widely accepted, though I'm less familiar with those.

I have NSCA-CPT and CSCS, and I have yet to come across a gym that doesn't recognize those. As well, the textbook for each is pretty solid.

I hope to gain more desire in doing this, as I w2ould love to get people in real shape without all the fake ass movements that don't do shit but trick em. plus make money while helping people get real results. I get frustrated seeing guys training others who they themselves suck and there pencilnecks. There are only a handful of people I would ever train with, but they are of course top pro's, and would say you need to get a pro card 1st, then maybe cause I do have full full muscle bellies even on the small amount of gear at my level. Yeah I walk slow in the gym cause no one has what I got at my gyms, oviously pro's don't workout where I live. But I'm # 1 huge guy at my gym as far as genetics. THere are big guys, ripped guys, symetrical and big guys, But they know I king at my gyms other than 1 other player who thinks he's goin pro in the next 2-3years, and yeah, he could definetly do just that. He's still young enough, I'm to old with no desire to do masters at this point. If he makes it in the future I will feel like a million bucks. He has the dna, and the resorces I think to get his dna to pro level if ya know what I mean. Love this world. I'm going through a getting smaller and becoming more able to get my business rolling again. Can't run a busy business and stay huge, it just doesnt work. Ya either live getting huge or inbetween somewhere.

Are all of these certificates tests taken online? Is that really how u get certified?

Most gyms have rules against this.

Sure, you could always say that you aren't training anyone and that Sarah is really your workout partner...
