If I can't sleep and I get hungry what should I eat that is good for me? I have problems with sleeping a lot.

You need to learn to sleep.

But, I'd say eat some cottage cheese. :thumb:

yeah you have to get into a deep state of sleep for it to be effective really. But if you do wake up to potty or do w/e, then I would say cottage cheese as well. Maybe even some casein protein, which isn't the best tasting btw.

Cottage cheese is great...

Complete proteins contain the amino acid tryptophan, which may help you sleep.

And adding fats may relieve your hunger better than just the protein.

So CC with peanut butter or avocado or a small handful of nuts would be perfect.

If you wanted to try things that would specifically help with sleep then anything that is high in tryptophan (an amino acid) would help... So you could try some turkey, most dairy products (cottage cheese, yoghurt, some warm milk)... To a lesser extent it is also found in things like peanuts, oats, banana....... LOL - and chocolate! :p

So cottage cheese would be fine (although I would add some healthy fats and fibre as well..).

(note: it is now thought that you actually need to take the amino acid by itself - specifically the L-form of tryptophan - to get the sleep benefits... but you would expect that a meal high in tryptophan would help to a certain extent... )...

For me I hate cottage cheese, but when I can't sleep I eat a nice stalk of raw brocoli. Digestion starts working for me and I fall asleep better.

Hey when I eat a bunch of food then go straight to sleep, I wake up feeling full and bloated, and whatnot. Doesn't your body like shut down digestion when you're asleep or something

Chicken+ cottage cheese + omega 3 mayo + olive oil = my meal before bed tonight.
