I have powerblocks, owned them since 2002, I like them, no problems to date, mine go up to 85lbs.
Powerblocks are pricey. Check out craigslist. Don't buy them new. I personally don't like any adjustable dumbbells. I understand though if you don't have the space. If I had to choose I would get the powerblocks or the ironmans.
Look for dumbbells that can use Olympic plates. I used to have a set, and they were great. Make sure to get some sturdy clips with them too. You can load 25s on these so that if you ever need 150+ pound dumbbells, it is quite doable. By the same token, they are much cheaper as you can utilize your existing collection of plates, or even bring them to the gym to use their set. They are also sturdy.
The only downside is that it takes longer to adjust the weight. I think this is made up for by the cost, versatility, and lots of room for expansion.

Let me tell you how to build some cheap adjustable dumbbells. Get some empty milk jugs and jam a mop stick throught the handles. Fill the milk jugs with the amount of water for the required weight and lift.

Powerblocks...you can buy add-ons to get up to 150 lbs I believe. Bowflex only go up to 90 lbs...and if you want higher in Bowflex you have to wait for them to make another set, then buy a whole new set. Bowflex are expensive relatively speaking, everytime you want to move up to another bracket of weight, it is a new set of dumbells. THey make Bowflex in the up to 55 lb, then a set up to 90 lbs, but they are separate sets of DB's thus costing well over a grand. And then if you wanted over 90 lb, Bowflex still has to manufacture a set going over 90 lb, then you again have to purchase another whole set of DB's, thus $500-700 more. Pretty pricey in the long run, almost defeating the purpose of consolidating the amount of DB's to save money and such.
