What is the best machine for intense cardio workouts? I am moving to the city and will not have access to my home gym anymore. I need to pick up one cardio machine due to lack of space. Then I am bringing all of my weights from home.

I like the elyptical glyder.

Me too but they are very spendy. Go to craigslist and get a used exercise bike or something like that. Doing something is much better than doing nothing.

I like the Versaclimber and rowing equipment. These really get the upper body involved too. Jumping rope and other forms of conditioning are underrated as well.

best cardio training in my opinion...

skipping rope, cheap, easy, you can do it at home. i can do most cardio machines pretty easy, if i try skipping though at a decent pace, i find it works better than running or anything else.

bump to the versaclimber and the rower. They are my two favorite pieces to conditioning my clients (and myself) on.

my personal favorite for low intensity cardio is walking on the treadmill in front of a TV, or if doing HIIT training, a recumbent bike. Blows the quads up really nicely.

I've Tried treadmill, running on a track, a step climber machine and elliptical, Imo elliptical with varied resistance programs work the best/burns the most calories.

I think I am going to go the Elliptical route. I like the treadmill and exercise bikes but the treadmill is too rough on the knees. The Eliptical/Jump Rope combo should be good for some intense cardio workouts. Thanks guys.

Whats a Versaclimber? Actually I think I can picture it....

plus if they ever bring back american gladiator you would be one step ahead of the competition

:roflmao: :roflmao: Do you know how expensive those machines are? I am willing to spend some cash, but damn, that's out there.

Hahahahaha. I always do jumping jax with my workout. Usually after runing or right before I end my total workout.

i luist bought an eliptical. its kind of small, and i can tell it feels different than the one i used at the gym. however, my workout are very intense when i want them to be, and i can burn more calories on this machine than on a treadmill. the only downside is if you just had a hard day at work, or are really tired, u cant just hop on and walk for an hour or so as with a treadmill, its all high intensity cardio workout. again, not a bad thing, but i like having the option. but hey, i bought an eliptical for a reason: MAXIMUM FAT LOSS:)

Well, I am picking up an Eliptical on Sunday. I got the Nordic Track Cxt950 for dirt cheep. Can't wait to see how intense of a workout I get from this beast.
