Best for what? That's not really a valid question. And what kind of option is 'dumbbell'? Do you mean DB Presses of some sort? And why are the Flies and Dips possessive? Do those options mean using the exercises of flies (insects) and dips (morons)?

OK, I'm taking off my Grammar Nazi boots...

If it helps you any, I like using Flies as a finishing exercise. I find that it really destroys my pecs if a I finish off with a dropset of flies. It's really brutal stuff.

Ok im sorry about my grammar im not to smart but i mean overall and dumbbell as in dumbbell press

Don't beat yourself up. Proper spelling and grammar are skills. Just keep working at them and you'll do fine. On the Internet, it's not just what you say, but how you say it, that tells others how intelligent you are.

Since you seem to be new to bodybuilding (even newer than myself :)), try out every exercise at least a few times. You'll figure out what works, and doesn't, for you.

Heck, yesterday I just tried Yates-style barbell rows for the first time. I wish that I had tried them sooner. They're great!

I beleieve incline dumbbells or incline barbell is the best. Put it this way.....incline is the hardest therefor the best.

My favorite exercise for the chest is cable crossovers. They totally destroy my pecs and give me a great pump, but I am not gonna say they are the best exercise. They are simply my favorite for chest day.

sceficically regarding hypertrophy, I think dumbell presses are the best. They more accurately mimick the natural movement of the chest, where as the b-bell bench is really more of a tri movement when things are broken down..

Why do you have to question every little detail? I'm sure you know what he meant....
Stop being a bitch about it

what he said :)

LUUUVVVV flies...From every possible angle, following a few heavy pressing sets, flies really are effective for me...

super-slow flyes as my finishing exercise...i like doing dropsets with them so tht when using my lightest weight i can pause at the bottom of the rep and get an awesome stretch.

I vote "Other"..............:hmmm:

I prefer heavy flies. Flies shape my pecs like no other exercise. They add roundness, definition and..... jeezuz, sounds like a bra. Never mind.

Have you tried a dropset of flies?

I can NEVER get form on DB flies right. I pref to do them with a machine.

You can't shape a muscle.
I like to think I'm sculpting my body--maybe it's BS, but it helps me. Anyway, flies make my pecs round and striated in a manner that flat or incline benching never comes close to.

I feel the same way too. Missing out on a good exercise.

Someone please explain how to perform dips..LOL I'm a little retarded when it comes to wieght lifting.... :spaz:

Flat flyes or dips. :)

Why is everyone so into dips for chest? I love dips, but I do them for my tris; my chest doesn't really get anything out of dips.

when i used to do dips, i wud get a cracking kinda thing happening in my lower - mid chest...hurt like a biatch...now i dont get it anymore...*shrugs*...jus thought id share..:thumb:

Are you using the right angle on your dips?
I lean slightly forward when I do dips.

Where is the 'all of the above' button? There is no one best chest exercise. All of the ones you list are the major chest developers, you left out decline BB and DB.

Now if you said what is your favorite chest exercise, then BB inclines would be mine.

Dips hurt my shoulders :(
