Just wanted to know what all of you do to work out your chest.

Whats the best way (most effective)?

I like arnold bench press incline dumbell press

For strength and mass, especially if you are just starting, focus on the compound chest movements. Do plenty of barbell bench press, incline presses, and dips.

I always loved heavy DB flyes.

How about pec deck? I once read in a book that pec deck is the best chest exercise because the main function of the chest muscle is to bring our arms across to the front, and pec deck is the exercise most resembling this movement. What do you think?

Oh I love the pec dec! and DB flyes!
On the pec dec, I like to squeeze in the middle when you bring your hands together and hold for a few secs! Burnsssssssss!

the olympic sized cambered bar press, thats the best movement for the chest and you rarely see it anywhere. The function of the chest is more of a fly motion and this movement mimicks that at the bottom of the lift instead of stressing mainly the shoulders at the bottom half of the lift, the chest is recruited throughout the full motion. Its a great excercise and you can go pretty heavy which is why its so appealing. I recommend it highly

Incline, decline, and flat barbell and dumbell bench press.

Dips.

Incline, decline, and flat flys.

Chest

Stuck with bench presses way too long, only got occasional shoulder trauma (ya, i warmed up). For me and many others, better to go with flye variations, dips properly done, and cable crossovers; much better. Some really respond to bench presses, i was never one and wasted a lot of time on them. Pushups are a good flushing exercise-calithenics in general imbue an athletic appearance.
