What is the better mass building exercise for back. Standing t-bar rows or seated rows? Deadlifts are my primary back exercise. I usually do deadlifts then seated rows.

So should I rule out the seated rows?

Nothing wrong with having a close grip cable row too, but I like a bent over free-weight row before the machine stuff.

Thx for the info. I think I will try one week doing close grip and the other week Bent-over rows. Or maybe just incorporate a 2 sets of close grip into my back routine but they may be to many sets for my back.

the wide-grip row, however, places more emphasis on the rhomboids than the close-grip, as the close-grip makes more use of the biceps. sort of like wide grip vs. close grip lat pulldowns.

So when doing bent over rows, it's better to use a wider grip in order to isolate your back and minimize bicep involvement? I never really used what I would consider a 'close' grip, but I could never quite target my back; my biceps kept fatiguing before my back got tired, and I could never get a proper workout from it.
