What is everybody's take on the training and diet of this program? Any success stories?

It's a good newbie routine. Will definately help you get on the right track. Diet given is pretty sound depending on your goals.

May want to do a search for BFL articles. There should be a few out there.

The diet is a good one to go by but the training routine isn't that good.

I find that it is the perfect book for a person new to weightlifting and dieting. No way should it be used by bodybuliders and people who have been training for more than a year.

The diet and training is great for beginners and has had alot of sucess stories. I have many friends and clients that have done the program and have made many changes. How old are you? How much do you weigh? Body fat %? and what are your goals? This would help us determine whether the program would be good for you.

I havent read this yet, but i really think upon first glance it looks like a "body for life" wanta be contest.

its a good starter like the others said, just don't get sucked into all the supplements they like to push, you don't need them.

Agree with STB, the supplements are nessesary. It does make them money though.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Yes sorry i mean arent nessesary. Sorry.

Yes, i would say that. Supplements can help you to reach your goals but they arn't needed. You can get everything you need through proper diet.

No i am not saying no supplements. Protein is good for convience, but the body for life program suggests alot of supps.

I did BFL for 12 weeks. It's a great program for the beginning, or just getting back into weight training person. It uses the principals of pyramiding and working to failure, without a ton of exercises for each body part. Basically, you do 2 exercises (6 sets) in pyramid fashion per body part. One week you work legs twice and upper body once. The next week you work upper body twice and legs once. Etc. etc. You do 3 short, but intense interval cardio. The nutrition is sound. The program encourages you to change up your exercises every 4 weeks so your body doesn't get used to what your doing and quit responding.

I had great success with the program. I now do a more advanced workout, but I pretty much keep up the nutrition ideas.

I'd say, if you've never lifted before and want something laid out for you that is easy to follow and you're willing to work hard.......you should have some good results at the end of 12 weeks.

By the way, I never entered the contest. I just did the program.

Any program you do is only as good as the effort you put forth! If you are not willing to work your arse off, you won't get any results. I've seen many people say "it's just too hard and I can't do it". We'll that's why you're fat! You're lazy! You have to have the dedication to get to where you want. Just ask many of the people here that have worked their butt off to do comps and stay in shape. It's one of the hardest things you can do! But the rewards I think are well worth it!

JenD, great post. Good to hear that you liked the program, i know many other people that have had great results as well. I think that the BFL book would be a good investment for Joe and any other beginners.

It's great for a beginner, but I would like to hear about follow up stories on these people....did they stick with the program or just get fat and out of shape again.

Hoenestly though it's just a big marketing scheme for supplement companies, EAS started it, and now most of them jumped on the wagon.

It does make them alot of money on supps, that is why i dont care for the diet too much. The training outline is great for newbies though, and then they should re work the routine.

Here's a follow-up story from a former BFL'er. I'm still working out.........in great shape and loving it. I belong to a forum on MSN where many many former bfl'ers are working out lonnnnnnnnng after doing BFL for the first time.

Like I said in my earlier post. It's just a plan. Many plans out there. I used no supplements. I just did the program.

As with any plan........if you stop doing what ever it was that got you in shape in the first place, you're going to get fat and out of shape again.

Jen
