The bottom part of my hand (if thumb is upward) + my pinkie and the finger next to it falls asleep several times per day. Thumb + index finger + and long finger + the upper part of my hand is not affected. Its been like this for about a week, and started (I think) due to my intesification of my forearm training. Ive never had a problem like this before, what do I do? Is it a nerve thats not in position or what?

Im not a doctor, but most likely this is your ulnar nerve which has slipped or been knocked out of the ulnar groove that passes over the outside of the elbow. Or its possible it is just inflamed. Ibu will help with swelling up to 800mg 3Xday max.

JJJ, your hand is obviously bored with the familiarity of always being in the same position. You might try changing grip positions or swapping hands the next time you begin to feel the need to stroke yourself. But I'd recommend a different exercise if you really want to work forearms anyway since you won't get but one set in your way.
 :funny:
OD

P.S. sorry could not resist this one...

Hey I get the same exact thing ;) Actually I think you were right when thinking it comes from forearm training. One of my strongest bodyparts are my forearms. If I am training hard sometimes the hand cramps up too. But I do get the pins and needles quite a bit when I train anything that uses forearms :D

Thx MTN WARRIOR, seems like I got a super small injury on my ulnar nerve.

shutupntra1n how long have you been like that?

"It will heal spontaneously" Weight training is recommended to minimize the symptoms.

Ladies, you heard OceanDude, so whom will volunteer? Oh and unlike OceanDude I guarantee more then 1 set

Well seems like just on the M1T b/c the pumps are so great ;) I think it's just from the blood pressure :D

My fried, you are truly blessed, you have he power of the stranger. It is the state of masturbation that occurs when you sit on yur hand til it falls asleep and then whack off with it, it is as if a stranger is doing the work. You are truly blessed.

Anyway, are there any specific positions that you put your hand in that lead to this numbness? The pinched nerve can be much further up your arm than you realize.

No no specuific positions, just at random times.
Pretty much the whole day yesterday, made typing a bitch.

warrior is correct...what you described is the classic presentation on an ulnar nerve problem.....now what exactly is going on with it is impossible to determine without examining you but i can list some common things found in lifters.

1. Your radial head may be out just below your elbow which can affect the ulnar nerve and is common....i had it myself....chiro who does extremities can fix it easily

2.You have some type of muslce spasm in your forearm that is affecting your ulnar nerve...this can be worked out by you with some deep massage...or if you feel more comfortable se a massage therapist or chiro.

3.may be a neck problem...post more later...got a patient!!!!
