Has anyone ever broken out after shaving (full body shave for a comp) and if so how did you correct the problem?

Yea, its a bitch. I just get a luffa and scrub the shit outa myself. There is also special stuff you can buy called "No Bumps" I believe. Go to a beauty spa where they do waxing and look for it. Mine is in a green bottle.

Kewl I'll have to go check it out. Thanks, its really annoying the hell outta me.

Supposedly the more you shave the more use to it your skin becomes, and breaks out less. It has always been such a pain in the ass for me, that I cant stand to shave but every blue moon. I just trim it real close with an electric now.

Yea I hate shaving and in time it does stop getting bothered. but I have to shave for various reasons and I HATE it with a passion heh. But I guess it comes with the territory lol.

not all over, but sometimes in sensitive spots, that is why I shave at least weekly for 2 months before a show.

did you use any cream or just shave with water?

you could try some oil on your skin after shaving.

Waxing is the way to go! :)

Waxing hurts like a BITCH!

yea but you wouldnt break out would you? (waxing)

Yes you do. I actually broke out worse getting waxed then shaving. I forgot to exfoliate though.

Don't shave against the grain, As long as I go with the grain, I don't break out, but the shave isn't quite as close either but my wife says it's close enough

what ive found personally that works and my girlfriend for shaving bumps AKA "Follculitis" is that if you go tanning in a strong bed it kills the bacteria and helps eliminate the bumps and skin irritation for about a week..ive heard dermatologits use Strong UV light to do the same..but its probably cheaper to just go to a tanning booth!! plus you get tan..ever notice you usually get most of your bumps in places that dont usually get allot of sunlight? your face gets lots of sunlight but you dont get bumps there!!! it also has to do with Vitamin E production..sunlight helps your skin produce Vitamin E which helps fight off bacteria that live near your hair folicules

I use to find it to be the opposite. When I went tanning a while ago...yes this thread is very old...I would get bumbs from tanning if I was exposed to it but I have very fair skin. Shaving would irritate but in the begining of my tanning experience, maybe the first month or so I would get bumbs on my quads and chest. Also anytime I went to long I would get em.

I'm tempted every day to shave my body hair. I HATE having body hair for some reason. My fear of looking like a pretty boy is the only thing that stops me.

Well, being shaved isnt going to make you look like a pretty boy.

Its what your face looks like. So your pretty huh Var? No wonder asspirate and you get along so well

:D

Yeah...I get called pretty boy sometimes. :grumble: But it works with the ladies! :eyebrow: :hehe:
