For anyone that can help,

I have been lifting for a while now, and I have been noticing some gains, but I have a small frame. I am now 5'9 and about 155, and having been taking whey protein, I want to up my size and i know I need to increase my calories, but I just don't have the appetite to consume that much food. Any suggestions on increasing appetite or uping the calories somehow? Thanx.

fat is easy to eat and it's the most calorific.

Add oil here and there. Snack on nuts.

if that fails, then go for liquid calories.

Why don't you post your diet, it would be easier to give suggestions that way :)

BTW...welcome to the board :hello:

normal? for who? ;)

that's your first and probably biggest problem, you need to increase your meals to 5-6 per day.

Sorry this has taken so long, but here is my usual diet that was requested. This is how a typical day goes:

Breakfast:

2 eggs
2pancakes
1 bowl of oatmeal
1 glass of milk

LuncH:

1 baconcheese burger
fries
2-3 egg whites(or should I eat the whole thing)?
a salad of some sort

Dinner:

1 chicken breast or a plate full of pasta
mashed potatoes
another salad
1 bowl of cereal(usually cheerios)

I am at college right now so i have to eat dorm food, which makes any type of meat i get have lots of fat and grease as well. I also have 2 protein shakes on the days i workout. I usually have 1-2 small snacks a day, normally like a granola bar. I hope this helps.

Two eggs for breakfast, who are you kidding? That's definately not enough protein. Have about 5whites and 1 whole one.

High Protein/Low Carbs. But still, mass is hard to gain so I would not suggest that route. I would just eat a lot of food and bulk and then go on a diet.

You're going to have to increase your protein and meal frequency....use a protein shake w/ 1 tbsp oil (flax seed, safflower, etc) in between your regular meals, everyday, not just days you w/o. Don't be afraid to eat more eggs! At both those meals, you need higher protein for tissue repair!

It would be interesting to know what your work out looks like. I was in the same boat when I started hitting the Iron. At 17 I was 6'1" and 155. Which made me fairly lanky. Two Years of on and off lifting on conventional type split routines and I had only added about 15lbs of Body weight. I was a lot stronger but not big enough for my tastes. Then I got my hands on Brawn by Stuart McRobert. I started doing breathing squats and a more abbreviated routine. I gained about 25 pounds of muscle in 4 months. For my body type Lifting that often actually hampered my efforts to gain the weight I wanted. Not to mention I spent way to much time working on my showy muscles and ignoring the one exercise that helped me gain the weight. Squats. Sure i had squatted before at least i thought I had. Breathing Squats are pure hell when done correctly but nothing else worked for me and I didn't want to use roids.

As far as your diet goes I would agree with everybody else. I would only add that Liquid calories don't seem to register the same way as Solid calories. So drink tons of Milk instead of water. Hey it works for babies they seem to gain a lot of weight and they don't even work out. :p
