I just finished a two month cut that I dropped 10 pounds on. I was feeling good about my results and got to see abs for the first time in my life. I decided to try and squeeze in a small bulking period in before cutting back down for the summer. I've upped my caloric intake and feel more energy when in the gym.

The only real question I have is am I supposed to gain a pretty big amount of weight when I start flooding my body with all of these (clean) calories since my body has been used to only ~1700 calories a day? I've introduced carbs back into my diet (sweet potatoes, oatmeal, whole grain breads, fruits) and I just feel like I'm cheating because of how full I feel all of the time. I've gained 5 pounds since last Monday when I started my new bulking diet which seems like a lot of weight to gain in one week.

Anyone help is appreciated.

You`ve reglycogenated. No worries. Creep the calories up slowly - try 1900 daily for a week or two, then 2000 and so on until you hit your new `maintenance`. Then leave it alone for a bit, let things settle.

Thanks Built. Your advice has got me to where I am now, and I'm sure continuing to follow it will take me places I want to be!

Creeping up calories is what I'll do.
