nice to see we can all get our ideas across in a friendly manner.

you guys may be right or wrong about decline BB, but coming from a family of doctors, and being one myself, i gurantee you that if you can hit a muscle fiber from a different angle while maintaining a comfortable position, you SHOULD.

I'll tell you what you also shouldn't do, generalize that decline BB is a waste of time just b/c you heard some "guru" talking about it, regardless, I get max pump from declines, so I will continue to do them no matter what a test or others might say. we're all different.....you know.....

now watch, some guy's gonna take everything i've said (i'd like to think its logical), and throw it back in my face.....i welcome it.

peace,
immigrant

I was thinking about doing them but that would be too many pressing exercises for chest so i chose to do weighted dips!

Totally agree! It's like a child telling an old man the meaning of life from a piece of literature they read!

no, I just thought that you were starting out lifting weights as well so I don't get why you say shit like that.

I was talking to Squagglbugger and cowcrap. Decline sucks for chest bro its a fact. Dont waste your time on it. Its more shoulders than anything else. why would you wana waste 3-4 sets on a decline bench? When I remeber you saying theres no way to isolate your chest... hmmm so I guess you just say things to try and make me look dumb. Look im not the one with the lil holocaust survior body. But your b/s could throw many ppl off. I'm just talking from exp and obviously your not because look at your chest. I'm trying to help people with my personal exp (little it is) but im talking the truth. Ask anyone thats big in the gym, they rather be caught jacking off in the gym bathroom then doing sets on a decline bench.

Actually, steep incline pressing is more shoulders than you would think, not decline pressing. It is half way to an overhead press, which becomes shoulder flexion (And elbow extension). The primary mover in shoulder flexion is the anterior deltoid, although the pectoralis major does assist in this action.

Also, I never said decline pressing was isolating your chest. All I said is that your chest gets worked. Somehow you took that to mean isolate.

You're talking from experience? All 2 months of it? Not a very accurate source of information in my opinion. Ask anyone that's in the gym? Haha, yeah, that's a great way to get advice filled with fallacies and myths.

Oh yeah, and like I said before, you have to gain weight before you can talk trash about my physique. Once you weigh more than me you can talk all the trash you want.

Nope i havent, and even if i did you dont see me advising people all the time! and when i do it is only in my opinion unlike with him which he has to make a song and dance out of it all, he must be right and what he says is not usually through experience but through an article in a bodybuilding magazine!

Are you supposed to bring it up to your chest or stomach? and should it ideally be touching your body at the top of the movement?

and I have read tons of newbie questions from you that you really would know if you were training for a decent amount of time. And, I have seen your journal.

None of Cow's info comes from a BBing magazine!

and you have read all the bodybuilding magazines out there to know or better yet reside whithin cowpimps mind to know what he is saying isnt coming from a bb magazine?

Then again the info could have come from a very reputable site :thumb:

But nevertheless it is without a doubt the information he chooses to impose upon the forum is mostly from other people's experience or the latest inconclusive scientific test!

I'm not having a go at you P, i just want to voice my opinion and will do so resonably this time!

The information that I contribute comes from books and online articles mostly. There is some information that I have learned that comes from people on these forums. However, there are only a few people who's information I will accept without checking up on it.

I'm just saying the science of weight lifting changes considerably in some cases so prefer to take the advice of people with experience!

Okay, fair enough. However, there are experienced people that often share my views.

I am not trying to have it out with you either. I am just trying to get people to quit fucking arguing and grow up with all the personal attacks. Like I said "people that live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."

Personal attacks will no longer be tolerated in the training forum. If you want to act like a bunch of babies go to open chat. Otherwise grow the fuck up.

Well if you have a look at today's posts i have not thrown personal attacks rather support for what another person has said! and Cowpimp i know other people more experienced can share the same opinion as you otherwise i would be doing most things in the gym wrong but i prefer to hear it from them!
and p funk there is not much you can do to stop people hurling insults at one another so in most cases you'll have to lump as there is always going to be difference of opinion and the opportunity to do so! i definately will not stop with the insults where i see fit!

Thank you. I appreciate it. People have been seriously hounding me lately just because they don't agree with me. I try to stay civil, yet they swear at me, trash my physique, butcher my handle, etc. I don't understand it. I just want to have intelligent discussion.

if you don't stop with the insults you will have to find another forum to go to. :thumb:

i gotta agree with CP and Pat on this one. all of a sudden, if you're not fuckin Ronnie Coleman you obviously don't know a thing about training. i dont understand people on here recently, has anyone taken a look at the top trainers, doctors etc? they are fat, or skinny or don't even workout but these are the top guys in the industry who, get this, coach/train the top pro bodybuilders.

people have to learn that bodybuilders are nothing more than genetically gifted, and somewhat dedicated people. most don't know shit about training and have trainers telling em what to lift, doctors telling em what to shoot into their ass, and nutritionists telling them what to eat. stop believing those ghost written FLEX articles, because Ronnie Coleman can barely keep put a cohesive sentence together. "i did not want to do all those steroids, but he said he'll give me a gym membership so i said oh alright i'll do it" - that was Ronnie talking in one of his videos.

Freedoms go as far as the end of your nose. When you are constantly barging people with insults you have stepped over your freedoms.
