What do you use? I have AVI files on my computer that I want to burn to DVD. Having a hard time finding a good program to do this for me. Any suggestions?

Why would you want to do that? So you can watch them on your TV?

Get a Boxee Box instead. You can stream them from your PC instead of wasting time with burning. Plus it has other features.

I don't watch that many dvds. My kid does though. I just downloaded some kid shows and wanted to burn them to dvd for him. I want to be able to throw them into my dvd player and watch them on tv.

If you get the Boxee, you can watch your movies on the TV too and not have DVDs cluttering up your living room.

I don't want to buy another gadget though. I just want to make a couple dvds. That device looks cool but I just don't watch enough tv to spend the money.

So, you're not going to take my advice.

Fine then! See if I ask for your advice the next time I need help with my Real Doll!

It's a media server. It can stream videos from websites such as YouTube and College Humor. You can browse the web and play anything you can find straight to your TV.

You can also plug any USB or flash storage device into it and play media files on the device. You can also have it connect over your local network to another computer and play files from there.

It supports 1080p. It's also support Netflix HD.

The remote has a full keyboard on it.

It has a great media library manager.

The thing kicks ass.

nero if you want to author the files. If your dvd player has DIVX then just burn the avi files to the disc and your dvd player will read them.

or if you tv has a usb it will run the avi files from a usb

Isn't this the same as having XBox360 or PS3 with network connections?

I'm not really familiar with either of those in relation to playing media files. However, the Boxee is made solely for that purpose. It's way more than just a browser.

Do the consoles have a keyboard? Can they play files on network shares? Do they catalog all the media they find with a slick-ass system? Can they play files off USB and flash devices?

I'm pretty sure that those consoles do have Netflix HD.

If they can do all that, then yeah, I guess there the same. But I don't own a consoles, so I don't know.

All the consoles do is play DVD/BluRay discs. And controlling a movie with a game controller is just too childish.
