So I've been focusing on cardio, stretching, etc. for the past 6-8 months just trying to get into better all round condition. Decided to go to the gym late last night with all of my combat gear (ar500 ba plates, etc.) and complete ammo load out minus my firearms which is close to about 70lbs total.

does anyone make a weighted vest that can accommodate this kind of weight? the ones by Everlast, etc. only seem to go up to 20lbs which isn't that much at all.

We usually just wear out plate carriers with ammo loadout. Try it with a gas mask too. We went on a 6 mile full ppe gas mask run once....ridiculous

that must have totally sucked as it's bad enough with plate carriers and ammo. I'm crazy bored but haven't reached that level as of yet..LOL

Got a chance to weigh my combat load in Afghanistan once. It weighed 121pds. That included my plate carrier w/ plates(extra large plus side plates) all extra gear to include ammo, explosives, grenades, and shotgun. It was minus my m-4(w/m203 attachment) and my assault pack(maybe 30pds). At the time I weighed 245 - 250pds. At the end of the tour(13months) I was under 225pds. Carrying all that stuff was definetly a workout!

Read about these some time back:Home page

You probably going to analiate your knees and back, and plan on getting a large portion of the skin on your back rubbed off. that being said I used to do pack and flak runs its a great workout.

just doing a fast paced walk on an incline on the treadmill. I'm bored but not that bored!
