Sup everyone,

http://www.teenbodybuilding.com/brent2.htm

What do you guys think about a program like this one?I was thinking of scraping my weight training routine and replacing it with this one,im 5'9" & 190lbs and i just started cutting not too long ago.

Do you guys think a military workout routine like this one will get me the same results if not better ones as a weight triaining & cardio routine would?

Or do you think a mix between the two routines would work best?

My goals are to get down to around 150lbs,i dont want end up being "skinny fat" or lose a lot of muscle so please let me know what your thoughts are on this program, thanks.

I wouldn't cut out the heavy resistance training. Generally, whatever builds muscle also helps make sure that you maintain it when you are in a negative energy balance.

I don't particularly like the workout. If those are the requirements you have to pass in a military test for becoming a SEAL then maybe it's good. However, I think you could design something better for your goals.

Something like 3 days of resistance training and another 2-3 days of some form of cardio would be fine. A daily caloric deficit of around 500 calories is what you want to shoot for (Taking into account the extra calories you burn with exercise). This leads to about a pound of weightloss a day, which is a pretty good rule of thumb for losing body fat and maintaining lean mass.

As a side note, I prefer anaerobic forms of cardio. In my journal you can see some of my cardio circuits several pages back to get an idea as to what I do to maintain a good level of conditioning. You might also consider searching for HIIT and Max-OT cardio. Sprints are excellent as well. Just be careful using the last few methods too much as they can impose a significant amount of stress on the nervous system.
