And it's a good feeling :thumb:

It's good to know that you feel the same about an anti-Christian IM that you feel about BigDyl's dick.

How did you know about that

what a Christian should be and what they usually are are two different things

Its obvious alot of people are bitter towards Christians. I dont blame you. We as people are failures and can never measure up to what it means to be a Christian. But in reality you likely wouldnt realize im a Christian if you met me. I started this thread to just talk with a few other Christians, but realistically the differences you would only see is that I would not enjoy ambarassing you, or attacking you, or stealing from you, I actually enjoy when I can cause peace or make someone comfortable. I also dont have a need to win or be better and genuinely am happy when someone else is successful. I think these are the things that count as a Christian.
Theres people suffering in this world, people who are laying in hospital beds who are children, people who are starving, people who dont have a home, people who feel out of place everywhere they go. This is why for us as Christian bodybuilders it can actually be a meaning full thing. Imagine being a competitive bodybuilder and visiting a child in an orphange who is very sad and basically feels like hes not as good as the rest of the kids because he has no parents and the other kids make fun of him because his clothes are hand me downs and not in style. Well when you go in and hang out with these kids it makes them feel special and can offer hope. This is just one way you can use bodybuilding. Theres also kids who are stuck in peer pressure and on the way to getting into drugs and throwing there life away. Athletics is a lifestyle and can inspire kids to change there whole life. And when they have positive people around them who arent just in the sport for arrogance it can give people things to emulate.
I was one of those kids who had a rough life growing up. I had positive people in my life who genuinely gave me hope and they saved my life. Its good to give back. I would always give up bodybuilding to have a bigger role in serving or helping others, its an awsome thing to be able to do something positive. We are not going to live forever here on earth, so to me its important I leave something behind which is positive when I am gone.
I dont want to preach to anyone, I am just like a non Christian in that respect. I have never enjoyed the hypocritical words being forced at me when I didnt ask. but guys it may be a good idea to give some of us the benefit of the doubt. I dont think being a Christian is something I have to convince anyone to be. its the way I live and act which counts, and this should speak for itself, and if it speaks the wrong message, then its me that has done something wrong.

Anyways, hopefully we can change the tone of the posts.

Oh and nice post by the way brother. Its tough sometimes to stand up and not fight back when people attack what you believe in. But it shows integrity and true strength. AWSOME !

Bodybuilding is only vain if our motives are. It can be a vain sport. But thats why its important we all do our part to change that stereotype.
Proverbs 16:3 is also a good reference.

Peace

Thats pretty funny that every post by whom we do not speak of is under the name jackass

is taking care of your body a sin, no.

When we build our body and make it more muscular it is a good thing end of story. Contests are good too, it shows the work we have done. the only thing which could be wrong with competitive bodybuilding is the win at all costs attitude. It should be only to do our best and not to be the best. We are all equal. This way there really is no vanity.
And the seven deadly sins are not biblical. True they are bad things but none of us are perfect anyways.
Peace

I am new to this, but see results of value. Gym pains are better than chest pains. The Christians have no excuse to allow the physical temple to fall into ruins. It can be used to serve others. Many believers are inspired to take the first step because of the good examples who show well in contests. And they can avoid unhealthy mistakes by learning from others who understand the value of scriptural behavior. Vanity is thinking that we can be better than others because of our own "good behavior". Everyone falls short without grace from god. He helps us to imrpove in steps, just like our physical training.

am i allowed on there if i am Jewish?

The question is; should you be allowed there if you are NOT Jewish. Yeshua was Jewish, and was not preached to gentiles at all at first. Indeed he allowed the world to be joined to the root of Abraham by faith. We are not allowed to scorn our Jewish roots, as we ourselves are warned that we too can be removed again if we do so. The New Testament reminds us that we ARE Jewish, by faith. God's hope is that we might encourage all Jews to accept their Messiah as the fulfillment of the Old Testament.

Do you sense the evil in this thread?

Do you sense the evil in this thread?

That would be an expected reaction of course. The New Testament has that effect on Jewish people, even as it offers them hope. I didn't write these things, but I can list the New Testament scriptures if you care to read that. I was taught in part by the late Dr. Ben David Lew, who survived the Holocaust and later converted to Christianity. He ran a successful outreach to the Jewish people of Oak Park Michigan called "The Hope of Israel" for many years. this thread was titled "Christian Bodybuilders" so you might have reasonably expected to encounter such beliefs here.
