Christians please explain this!

Franklin was a Freemason -- an organization ever wary of religions. As was Jose Marti, George Washington, Simon Bolivar, Jefferson, Revere and most of the founding fathers. They DID believe in free will.
But did they believe in Free Willy?

I've always considered the Abrahamic God as the sorority house in college, you had to fit a rigid criteria for inclusion into the christian or muslim or jewish sorority house. The devil is the guy who owns the local pub around the corner from the college sorority campus, all are welcome.

I do believe in afterlife-heaven and hell, I dont believe half the stuff that went on in the bible, I do believe in God and the son of God. I dont subscribe to any particular religion, bought was brought up Roman Catholic. I firmly believe that if you treat people well and do well to others who are in need, you'll be rewarded. I dont think there is a dude up there keeping score of every little thing you do wrong. My mom would say, thats going to go in God's scorebook! Be good! She still does that today, and I tell her, "Ma, God is dead." and she throws holy water on me. She goes to church while I cant remember the last time I went.
I should mention that my mom asked me to go to confession the day of my marriage, which I did. The priest told me, oh you cant recieve confession because you're marrying a divorced woman! The priest is telling me this, while I am thinking to myself the fucking guy she married abused her physically and mentally. So there's some great logic in Catholicism. Since that time, I have probably been to church ohhhh 5 or 6 times. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I go now for funerals and weddings. Nothing else. Kind of sad.

He wasn't the first priest to leave a bad taste in some guy's mouth.

I think it's nothing. Lightning ( as in all lightning that occurs everywhere, everyday ) hits millions of things, people, property, the ground, etc.
This was just bound to happen eventually.

Dude, it isn't sad. Be thankful that you have the mental strength to question bullshit rather than eat it up and ask for more. What is sad are the people who take that priest's bullshit as fact, and live their life by it.
