Okay, I'm sure this is here somewhere, but just to save time and also help newbies and first time competitors (like myself), I need contest diet information.

If you wanna post links to yours, that's fine. Whoring, fine? All information is welcomed.

Not only am I doing this because I'll be competing this fall, but I just found out last night that my hubby and I are going to Playa del Carmen on May 22. YEAH BEACH!! :bounce2:
But now I need Beach body :scared:

Thanks for the info.....gotta go post in my journal now

Hmm....these can vary so much Tammy. This could be like opening a can of worms. Just remember what works for one person, may not work for another. Some will say carb cycling is the only way to go, but I don't believe it is the right diet for everyone. There are people out there like me who do not do well with a carb cycle, but rather a low carb diet (and low is under 100 carbs per day), with a cheat meal thrown in every few weeks to kick things back in gear. And we know my cheat foods are always something that contain a high amount of sugar, like choc. chip cookies or brownies, not something high in fat content like pizza or fried foods.

For me this is what works, it is the cutting diet I am using now.
Meal 1 6 egg whites and 1/4c. dry oats
Meal 2 4oz lean meat, 1/2c. rice or sweet potato, 1c. green veggies
Meal 3 4oz lean meat, 1/2c. sweet potato, 1c. green veggies
Meal 4 4oz lean meat, 2c. green veggies
Meal 5 same as meal 4
I don't have protein shakes, strictly lean meats like chicken, turkey, fish, reds once a week. The reason behind the no protein shakes is that the body has to work to digest the real food and helps with the metabo. which in turn speeds it up some. Shakes don't make the body work to digest.
I'm eatting at 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 8pm. Every three hours.
Snacks are sugar free jello, carb control yogurts, sugar free pop sicles, lettuce, umm..the thing I am not suppose to have much of Chex mix. On average I drink at least 1.5 to 2 gallons of water per day, as well as a 20oz diet coke. I'll cut the soda out the last week before a show. I supplement with a Multi vitamin/mineral 2 per day, C, E, B Complex, Calcium, Omegas, and an ECA stack. As well as Glutamine 2 to 3 times per day. I'll throw a tsp or 2 of fiber in when I feel the need too.

As I had before, this is what works with me and my body, each person is different. You'll have to find one that works well with you.:D

Thanks J, I know I can always depend on you. I think yours and my body are similar creatures with the insulin spikes and holding on to sugars the way we do. I have pretty much cut all of the sugars out of my diet, with the exception of Splenda and a Diet Coke or Caffeine Free Diet Coke every once in a while....

I also have to be careful because of my cholesterol level, so pretty much no dairies either.

I only have a shake post workout right now....and wondering if I should get rid of those?? Other than that, I think I'm eating clean enough and I'm losing bf, so I know it's working. But I also know I need to tighten everything up.

I don't want people walkin' around harpooning me in Mexico.

I don't think they will be harpooning you in Mexico! Silly.

Don't get me wrong, some shakes aren't bad for you. It's just that with the goal that I have to reach personally to compete in June, it is better that they are cut from my diet. My metabo slows down so much when I am not getting ready for something. I mean really slow! You would want to harpoon me on the beach!

I did have all my blood work done before I began dieting to make sure everything was in order. Cholesterol was 168. The reason dairy is out with me is do to meaking you smooth out and hold water, plus it has sugars. The yogurts have been cut too. I think there is 3 left inthe frig and Craig is eatting those.

Last check of my cholesterol, I think it was 350.....

yeah!!

wow. I dunno anything about getting that lower.

Honey, I've tried it all! Fishoil (still taking) Flax, Lipitor, Pravachol, Welchol, Zetia....it works for about a month and then it's like my body gets immune to it or something because after that, it doesn't lower it any more. My doc said just to keep working out and keep eating healthy and DON'T EVER take up smoking.

bump bump for others.

Thanks Jodi, that's pretty interesting. Two questions for you (or TP)
#1 -- what, if anything is it supposed to do for cholesterol?
#2 -- will this work act as a thermogenic too?

I'm wondering if I don't even need to take my thermos w/ this. By the way, I did order a bottle. I'm also going to send the link that you gave me to my endocronologist and see what she thinks about it.

Secondarily, I think that my cholesterol problem is what is keeping me from burning the fat that I do have. I'm having a really concerning issue with all of the remaining fat around my abs - specifically.

Any information you guys can provide RE: the above is deeply appreciated. I always trust you guys judgement. Hopefully Sesathin is what I've been lacking.
Thanks again.

This is such a new product that I don't have enough knowledge or experience with it to answer your questions.

I'll make sure TP see's the thread though and let him or another Avant person respond.

I think the product will help but it is not a Thermo. Avant did just come out with a fat burner called HEAT though. You might want to look into that as well.

I particulary like this part, especially for contest dieting.

To my knowledge, there is no data on sesamin's effects on cholesterol in humans; however, the literature indicates that is should have positive effects.

One person asked:

would the use of high dosed sesathin and high dosed fish oils be a nice stack for controlling blood triglycerides? would it compare to time released niacin? not taking into account the liver toxicity. i'm thinking of recommending this to my uncle, but I am curious if it will be likely to have a profound effect?

Par Deus's response was:

All indications from the literature indicate that it should be quite potent for reducing triglyceride and cholesterol levels.

As to body composition, sesamin is a lignan, and will help oxidize fatty acids (causing/promoting fat loss or preventing/reducing fat gain).

Everything you wanted to know about SesaThin??? can be found:

It sold out rather quickly at the reduced beta prices.

It should be back up for sale in the next day or so. We will be doing one more beta run, and then going to final at full retail.

Awesome.....I'll keep an eye on it
