Some will say carb cycling is the only way to go, but I don't believe it is the right diet for everyone. There are people out there like me who do not do well with a carb cycle, but rather a low carb diet (and low is under 100 carbs per day), with a cheat meal thrown in every few weeks to kick things back in gear. And we know my cheat foods are always something that contain a high amount of sugar, like choc. chip cookies or brownies, not something high in fat content like pizza or fried foods.
For me this is what works, it is the cutting diet I am using now.
Meal 1 6 egg whites and 1/4c. dry oats
Meal 2 4oz lean meat, 1/2c. rice or sweet potato, 1c. green veggies
Meal 3 4oz lean meat, 1/2c. sweet potato, 1c. green veggies
Meal 4 4oz lean meat, 2c. green veggies
Meal 5 same as meal 4
I don't have protein shakes, strictly lean meats like chicken, turkey, fish, reds once a week. The reason behind the no protein shakes is that the body has to work to digest the real food and helps with the metabo. which in turn speeds it up some. Shakes don't make the body work to digest.
I'm eatting at 8am, 11am, 2pm, 5pm and 8pm. Every three hours.
Snacks are sugar free jello, carb control yogurts, sugar free pop sicles, lettuce, umm..the thing I am not suppose to have much of Chex mix. On average I drink at least 1.5 to 2 gallons of water per day, as well as a 20oz diet coke. I'll cut the soda out the last week before a show. I supplement with a Multi vitamin/mineral 2 per day, C, E, B Complex, Calcium, Omegas, and an ECA stack. As well as Glutamine 2 to 3 times per day. I'll throw a tsp or 2 of fiber in when I feel the need too.
As I had before, this is what works with me and my body, each person is different. You'll have to find one that works well with you.
