im 17 years old and have been working out for 3 year thinking about trying creatine and i am started a diet plan soon. i only plan to use it for this footballs offseason. is this a good idea?

Go for it. Remember to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Just stay away from prohormons. Don't need them at your age.

The caffeine in coffee is a diuretic. Alot a day would be counter productive to retaining the water for the creatine.

1 cup of coffee/day will not adversely affect the effects of creatine. But if you drink a lot of coffee or if you take caffiene pills/ECA/NYC stacks then you need to increase water EVEN MORE. Also, make sure to properly load the creatine and definitely get that diet in order!

what about drinking beer and what not will that effect anything. and will taking creatine make me brake out?

Does that mean it will help me cut bf??

Drinkin beer will make you fat i think 1 beer has 200 cals plus it will dehydrate you as well (it all depends on how much you drink)
Creatine wont give you zits!!

There is also acid in coffee, which is a no go for at least as far as drinking it at the same time of day as the creatine, same with OJ.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Also creatine is a bit hard on the liver so drinking beer while on creatine can have adverse effects eg:sluggish liver, liver headaches. Just try to drink less alchohol.

Beer has empty calories that turn directly into fat. Not a good idea to drink too much. In addition, alcohol also increases estrogen levels, so in actuality beer turns you into a pussy.:) Alcohol also dehydrates you as does Caffeine, and may even flush the Creatine out of your system, so drinking while on Creatine is completely counterproductive to your progress.

Some will argue this but I beleive the loading phase to creatine is just a way to get you to buy more, your body makes creatine as it is so your just adding to something you already have.

As far as coffee goes, don't consume any within an hour of taking creatine and make sure you drink enough water.

Possibly. It's lypolytic, so it's possible, yes.

Also, it's because of this fat mobilising property of caffiene that means it reduces insulin sensitivty. So cutting caffiene (via coffee) for this very reason is quite unnecessary really, unless you're drinking copious amounts.

The acids of the stomach are much stronger than OJ or coffee and that doesn't effect the creatine. What makes you think that OJ and coffee will?

The No OJ and creatine story = myth.

(although OJ preferentially replenishes liver glycogen so it's a poor choice of drink anyway.)

Also creatine is a bit hard on the liver

Three amino acids are hard on the liver, eh?

Lightman, one thing to say about your post, it's not so much that beer's cals turn straight to fat, it's the alcohol in it (which is actually a macronutrient) is the body's first burned fuel - ie enthanol (alcohol) will be burned before any other macronutrient, meaning anything you eat while drinking alcohol will pretty much be stored and not metabolised. Other than that, perfecto.

I may be back in a sec with some info on caffiene's effect on creatine. Let me go see...

should i take creatine after lifting because soon as school starts im gona be at school all day then striaght to lifting, but when should i take the creatine. and how about a diet i was thinking taking a shake b4 school pack a lunch then drink another shake after wroking out. sound good?

Just drink loads of water, I take it right before a w/o., some take it after

I don???t know about taking creatine when doing just cardio alone, but I don???t see why not if you are drinking enough water???

regarding the beer. regular consumption of alcohols will lower your insulin sensitivity...

i have been hearing that if you take creatine for a while then stop you will lose all your muscle and get fat again is this just cause u arnt working out or does the creatine cause this?

Yeah, it's true.

As soon as you stop taking creatine you lose ALL your muscle. Seriously, it just like...vanishes.

Ad overnight you gain like, 40lbs of pure fat. And it all deposits on your abs. All of it.

Ok, seems to be a 'well' published myth then. I got that from t-mag a couple months ago.

Were they pushing a "revolutionary creatine shuttler" at the same time, too?

Or some shit like that.

Coulda been, I forget off hand.

where did you hear this?

Probably from creatine sellers, i suspect...

nah from 2 seniors that used it and then they stoped after school and they got fat. but i guess its just cause they didnt really do to much eh?

Ha ha, nice excuse for being lazy. Muscle doesn't turn into fat, so unless they were overeating for what calories they burned there is no other excuse for being fat.
