Ok... so i thought id put together this routine. It has me working each bodypart more than once a week. I'm thinking of going this route for a couple reasons:

1. One of my friends, who started lifting after i did, and who does a less intense workout, has already passed me in weight on a couple exercises (and he lifts 3-4 times a week).

2. I often find myself anxious to go lift after just 3 days rest. I'm not sore, and feel really pumped to go lift. I force myself to stay home....

So, without further delay:

Day:
1. Chest, Bi's
2. Legs
3. Back, Traps
4. Shoulders, Tri's
5. Chest, Bi's
6. Legs
7. Back, Traps
8. Shoulders, Tri's
9. OFF
10. OFF
repeat.

That gives me 3 days rest/5 days rest/3/5/3/5 etc....

Any thoughts?

let me see if I understand this right, from the looks of that schedule, that has you training 8 days in a row? I would throw in a rest day after 3 days on at least. Have you considered that to get more productivity out of your workouts, focus on increasing the intensity instead of the frequency? I think that would be more beneficial to your goals instead of risking overtraining. My 2cents

Day 5 will suffer for sure. There is no way that you can work shoulders plus triceps and then work chest the next day.

I am sore just reading his routine!

lol...

ok... so maybe thats over-doing it a bit. im just really put-off by the fact that my friend is lifting more than twice as often as i am, and he's packin on the muscle.

he only does like 6 weak sets per bp... and high reps (10 or so)

he's not even eating right. :/

GAH!

Mono...that is overtraining...on the gear or not...hell it's overtraining just thinkin' about that set-up:scared: Remeber that you don't grow in the gym...you grow when you train and take adequate rest (days off) as well as rest in terms of sleep. Iw ould suggest training no more than 5 days a week....8 days in a row is just insane!

If you're looking to gain strength and size I would suggest something like a 2 on 1 off set-up....or 3 on 1 off but no more than that without a day off.
