so I'm planning on getting my cscs cert and a friend of mine has the second edition study guide. The website suggests using the third edition though. My question being, can i get away with using the previous guide and save myself a few hundred bucks, or am I not going to be privy to a few important things come test time?

did you have to rely on your prior knowledge a little more do you think? I'd just hate to spend all this time studying and be missing vital info. I know that in most college courses you can get away with using older material...

NSCA-CPT or CSCS?

MeatZatk,

I got my CSCS back in 1998. I don't remember which edition I had.

However, I doubt there is much difference between the editions.

VolcomX311

Volcom who post on this site also has his CSCS. You might email him, he might be able to provided with better feed back than I have.

NSCA-CPT or CSCS Exam

Which of these do you plan on sitting for?

Thanks for the responses, it sounds like I'm safe with the second edition

I didn't even use a study guide. I just reviewed material in the textbook that I wasn't already familiar with or needed a refersher on. I doubt either edition is going to make or break your results.

I wasn't thinking about the study guide I didn't have one either. I just used the text also. And like CP said, you'll probably be okay unless you're borderline passing anyway.
