Hello everyone,

Currently I'm working out 5 or 6 days a week for about an hr per day and trying to eat 5 times a day. Used to pack a few sandwiches to work but lately I've been resorting to TV Dinners to bulk up and I noticed they have a lot of sodium. I do sweat during work out but I'm thinking I might end up getting too much sodium in me. Is there anything I can do to help remove the sodium? I try no to eat all of the sauce and such in those meals and drinking a lot of water is supposed to help right? Thanks

healthy choice makes tv dinners...taste a lot better and I believe they contain less sodium...I dont have any left so I cant check for you. Peanut butter and banana is good. Tuna is great. Water does help to flush out your body. Cottage cheese is good.

P.S. are you trying to just cut sodium....what is your overall goal...weight gain....loss?

If your not cutting for a contest, potassium is gonna be no good to you. Just reduce the amount of sodium. Simple. And try not to resort to TV dinners...

all tv dinners are extremely high in sodium. i think i read somewhere that you dont need more than 2400mg per day. that translates into 400mg per meal if your eatting 6 meals a day. tv dinners alone have about as much per serving.

Yeah, but some people don't always have the luxury to make their meals all the time...and I highly doubt he eats them EVERY meal.

I'm trying to gain weight and working full time and preparing meals isn't very easy. I usually eat 1 TV dinner for breakfast, then for lunch I eat out, then another TV dinner for snack then eat dinner at home, then work out and 1 more meal either TV dinner for 2 grilled steak Tacos from Taco Bell or just bagels w/ cream cheese. Yesterday I had one of those Hungry man TV dinner, that was a lotta food, 2 servings, 580 cal per serving and I finish almost all of it. I wish I could eat healthier but I can't ... so I'm hoping I could eat and remove it somehow :) rite now I'm 5'8 and weighs 108 only .... that's 13 more than I used to be 2 months ago

trust me, if you want it, you'll do it! heres some easy meals that can be prepared.

Night time- cook enough brown rice, veggies, and chicken breat for dinner and breakfast. I usually cook 6 chicken breasts to save a lot of time. they dont go bad when theyre cooked.

snacks- this can be prepared in the morning (10mins tops) 2 scoops for peanut butter (natural), any kinna fruit, a scoop or two of protein powder, plain low fat yougart, ice and blend. make 2 servings. theres your two snacks. your other snacks can be cottage cheese low sodium mix with a spoon full of natural fruit jelly or something...

lunch- im sure you can go to a deli or a places that sells salads. just order chicken breat with greens and top it with red wine vinagerette. or a wrap will do too.

hope this helps

Marky, that sounds delious...now i am starving.
He also said he wanted to gain weight, he need more than that. Eat lots of PB&J...lots of bananas, pizza, hot pockets, pot tarts (400 calories 200mg sodium), Drink protein shakes, Snack cakes....you can eat pretty much whatever you can get your hands on...try and keep it somewhat healthy but eat like a freakin horse and eat all the time...it sucks...i know...but thats the only way....I eat about 10 times a day.

maybe a clean bulk would be a better choice. well for every meal just up the calories or add a weight gainer. what i listed is just some of the things he can do. i think starting slowly on the weight process is better than putting on the weight in a hurry. a 2500-2700 calorie intake per day is more than enough for adding weight. just adjust while u start gaining weight.

dont forget low sodium tuna in a can, chicken in a can, and sardines in a can. all ready to eat meals without the sodium other nasty stuff.

eat a whole box of snack cakes

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
and drink a lot of shakes

10 big macs, fries, and a "diet" Coke. i love it when i see this at the food courts.

I'm having a hot pocket right now, cuz i didn't bring my meals for breakfast :) I don't got a kitchen where I live that's y i eat dinner at mom's and everything else is out ... aniway, I will be trying to look for alternative food .... thanks for all your advices

Here's what I found on a website

Your body will only tolerate sodium in certain concentrations. The more salt you eat, the more water your system retains to dilute it. But getting rid of unneeded salt is easy -- just drink water! As the water is forced through the kidneys, it will remove the excess sodium.
