I love deadlifts. Of course I never do them without a spotter. Don't want to hurt the back. I think I do OK for a female. Right now I do 95lbs at 10 reps. My back is probably the most defined because of these. You feel it in the butt as well.

Thanks! I am hoping to reach 100lbs this week.
What exactly is the best way (if there's a single best way)I never do them without a spotter
The best advice I can give on proper form is to ALWAYS, ALWAYS, ALWAYS do them in front of a mirror and NEVER, NEVER, NEVER let your eyes lose sight of your eyes in the mirrior. By always looking at your own eyes in the mirror you will keep your head up and therefore your back will stay straight which is the proper position. The most severe injury I've ever gotten in the gym was by doing dead lifts improperly. I knew better but just wasn't paying attention and on a stupid warm-up set I rounded over my back and ended up tearing a spinal erector. That was in 1997 and I'm just now getting back to using the same weights I was back then. I did deads this morning, 445 lbs for 5 reps. I'm just as sick as Baboon, I love deads!!!Originally posted by vinman
