I am currently looking to change my diet and exercise routine to lose some of my extra bodyfat. I have usually always stuck to lifting, running, and jogging as exercise. I run/jog every day of the week until I get to my legs day. And then, I find I don't want to risk overworking my legs by running. Are there any aerobic exercises I could do without the risk of overworking legs? Seeing as I have only experience in running, I don't know where to start.

the exercise bike can be nice and easy on the legs, depeding on the setting used. To be honest i absolutely love jumping rope, you get a great sweat and you feel pumped, and mostly you will work forearms and calves. I also get a tight feeling in my biceps(cant explain it) my form is pretty good with a jump rope.

Anyway, just buy a cheap one and you have something to do for the rainy days aswell.

boxing is a really good way to shift excess blubber, don't actually have 2 fight u can use the bad or do some bag work with your buddies.

If that's not your thing I found the cross trainer was a good one.

or if your ghetto make your own lol. get a piece of nylon rope cut it about 6-8ft long put some tape or something around the rope to weigh it down and use some wood or w/e you got laying around for grips. or you could spend the $5.00 and get one thats made right lol

^ An electical cord works too. It's even better if it's your neighbors.

lol. i actually just made one its pretty nice. i used 3 pieces of nylon string and tiwsted them tight so its one big piece prob half an ich in diameter or so and a good wieght so it will go around nicely.

Just don't do cardio on leg day. Aerobic exercise and resistance training are very different stressors. Your legs won't get overworked if you are training legs only once each week and jogging at a steady pace several other days during the week.

An eliptical(sp) is great for very low impact... Ideally, you should cross-train anyway!

I helped my friend make one in his garage. We cut up an electrical cord and threaded it through an old matress. It worked out pretty good.
