I live in San Diego, America's top city, and I think if you wanted to be a successful personal trainer you would have to live near a beach area where they have pretty good weather all year long. My only problem is being new to personal training and paying for classes I can't afford to live in So Cal with my girlfriend. Anybody training anywhere on the East Coast or in the Central part of the U.S. and having success?
Thanks Pat

forget about fitness in the North East, nothing but a bunch of fat asses out there....

Florida is a great place for fitness, the cost of living is low and I believe there is no state income tax..

Yes it does. I train were some hard core people train and I'm more motivated when they are around. The other gym at work doesn't get as fun or interesting...

Yup, that's where all the really fit grandmas migrate to.

I wonder if some of the "best" areas for fitness are also bad for trainers b/c the market is over saturated. (that's a question...i don't really know)

For instance - Gold's Venice (The Mecca) is my absolute favorite gym. I LOVE working out there. But I think it'd be incredibly hard to start up as a personal trainer somewhere like that. (forget certification - people there want you to have your pro card before they'll hire you)
