I am currently trying to drop some weight, so I am meticulously counting calories and macro's. What I find to be bizarre is although I am in a caloric deficit, I find myself having much more energy while lifting, and I actually feel stronger. Before I was kind of just eating anything, (I was eating plenty of protein/carbs/good fats) but I was also eating alot of sugar and other junk. Is this because I am not steadily eating well and not spiking my blood sugar with crap carbs? I was expecting to be weaker, but to my surprise It's just the opposite.... I imagine this will eventually taper off....

Same thing happened for me. The cleaner I eat, the cleaner I feel.

That's what I attribute it too, I feel lighter and cleaner and far more energetic

Makes absolutely sense here, too. I dropped to 12 calories per pound of bodyweight. All clean food. I'm hitting new 1 RM on almost all exercises in each workout and for the second consecutive week.
