Aside from mixing up bicep work, can someone tell me any (if there are any) particular benefits to drag curls? I've done them in the past, but only for one 6-week program. I noticed the range of motion of shorter than most bicep exercises, which is an obvious drawback. But, it seems that many exercises with drawbacks have contrasting benefits, like promoting extra blood flow, allowing for extra weight, etc.

If not, Can anyone suggest any unorthodox or particularly challenging bicep exercises? (besides chins, which I already do in one of my two programs)

Thanks a lot.

Its a curl variation. Curls aren't really the most critical exercise for anything. I wouldn't really put this much thought into them if i were you. They're useful for strengthening the bicep tendon, and to put the icing on the cake of a pull session. What kind of curl doesn't really matter too much.
