one of my worst peeves at my gym. there is one squat rack, and usually some dumb fuck is in there curling the bar with 10's on it when i need to use it for squats.

I gotta admit, I do this :( ...but maybe its ok cause we have 3 squat racks in my gym, and they are only all in use at the same time when its busy?..I didnt actually realize this was a problem till I started reading these forums...not sure where else I can use the olympic bar like this....

They do usually have curl bars at gyms, right?

yeah, I use the straight bar for a change, instead of the ez curl bars, also easier to change weight...

Yeah I know. I always preferred the BB because the EZ curl bar was... well... easy. But I don't even do any direct bicep work anymore anyways.

I have to, bi's are relatively weak/small for me....shoulders and triceps train easily...so makes for a funny looking arm, unless I do lots of bi's...

Mine aren't exactly huge either, but I don't concern myself with my appearance at all.

yeah...but I'm also concerned with how things look in proportion with each other and symmetry.....too vain?.....actually, I guess I'm not the only one here who is, otherwise we would just post stats or videos of our lifts instead of pics of poses....

i lift weights so i can get big, get hot chicks, and beat up skinny bitches.

Different goals/ego boosts in lifting. Bodybuilders go for looks, athletes/powerlifter types go for numbers.

Plus, strength is something you can use; big muscles are useless to me if they can't do anything. I'm sure many disagree though.

dammit squaggle your right. all these muscles do for me is get in the way when im trying to go through a door. im actually weaker than an 88 year old woman.

:nut:

:tard:

I do 40's for 12, 50's for 10, 60's for 8-10, 45's for 12. My pull muscles are extremely strong for some reason. Especially my back.

Not bad for someone who is just getting serious... Add 15 to each in a couple months(muscle memory...) Btw I'm no Mudge in size right now! My man is BIG pimpin!:clapping:

no matter what you use....55lbs or 225lbs they should not be done in the SQUAT RACK.

At my gym it's the best place to do them. Think I may be one of five people who even touches the thing...:thumb:

Actually someone posted about having large muscles but little strength. :thumb:

You're very cut and lean though, so even if you were weak I don't think anyone would make fun of you for being huge and weak. I'm sure that's not really an issue though.

hey, seems to me that doing isolation exercises are pretty important too (for some people?), even if you focus on the compound lifts.....for example if your triceps are relatively weaker, you could strengthen them to move more weight on the shoulder press and bench press.....glutes/quads could be a weak point affecting the amount someone can squat... :hmmm:

I'm not saying that isolation exercises don't have their place (like when a certain part of a lift is weak); I'm saying they're not necessary to make gains in the big lifts. I only do them if I need to get past a sticking point, which really hasn't happened to me yet as I've just started benching again.

I normally start my bicep workout with seated dumbell curls using 100 lb db for 8-10
