Dumbell Flys(bouncing)

Yesterday while at my gym,i seen a friend of mine doing flat Flys as he reached the bottom of the fly he moved them up and down slowely about 8cm each time(like a bouncing action),is this a safe methord of training?Or even a good exercise to me it looks prone to a pull.This guy swears by them.
 
I would not try them, It hurts my pec minor just thinking about it. Then again I am old and fragile:shake:
 
Thats exactly wot i thought,i mentioned my concern to him he just said it is fine,he is warmed up enoughe.

If he's doing it slowly in a controlled fashion it sounds more like a partial rep, which is okay.

However, bouncing would not be okay, that is risking injury.
