Hey guys...i heard that if u workout close-to-like, first thing in the morning...u shouldnt eat first. You should use the gym first, then eat your breakfast...is this true??

There is no point in doing this. Only if it is psychologically better for you. The fat burning properties of doing this are non-existent. Drink your whey when you wake up. :)

100% incorrect...

You NEVER want to exercise on a completely empty stomach...especially first thing in the morning...

There was a post started a few days ago addressing this very thing. You could have done a simple search and found this out. That said, NEVER lift on an empty stomach. You need to at least get in a pre-lifting shake about 45min before you lift. The only thing that you want to do on an empty stomach is cardio. That is when I do it, first thing after I wake up, then come back and eat breakfast.

LAM what does your current pre cardio meal look like? (for low intensity)

I ask this because as of late I have begun to do pre cardio sans carbs, and of course, am quite afraid.

I Would like to hear your specific input, there was a thread a couple of weeks regarding this, but I can't recall whether you were in it.

typically I just eat a regular meal then hit the gym or track about 1 hour later. if I am cutting and doing AM HIIT, Max-OT cardio, etc. I'll down a boatload of BCAA's and L-Glutamine. then I try to wait at least an hour after the session before eating, that way I'm still eating every around 3 hours...

All I have time for in the mourning is a banana with creatine mixed with grape juice.
Thats ok right?

Lose the banana and add some oats and whey.

I thought that potassium was good for energy? I do eat oatmeal and whey immediately after my workout though.
Thanks

have the creatine and juice when you wake up, 10 mins later have the whey and oats together in a shake, then once you get to the gym have the bananna just before your workout for a quick energy boost, i always eat a bananna right before my workouts as i find that it definatly helps

trust me working out with no protien or carbs in the system is a bad idea, as you are looking to rip and pump proteins and nutrients into the muscle when you train them and if there is no protein in your system then obviously you will not see very good gains, this is the same for cutting and bulking you need protien before you train

peace

What whey product do you use?

Let me get this straight. Do some of you have a whey and oats first, then do cardio, then eat a little, say a banana, and then hit the weights. I'm very curious, and would that also apply to someone if they where tryng to bulk?
