EFA and rest day question

Are we suppose to be getting EFAs at every meal except post workout?

Should the diet on rest days be the same as the workout days or should it be changed somehow?
 
yes.

my diet doesnt change except for post workout shake obviously.

Since I dont drink shakes, should the postworkout meal be any different on rest days?
 
no just a balanced amount of macros.

on workout days i take in more protein postworkout.

why not ? consuming a solid food meal is far from optimum for recovery and taking advantage of the anabolic window after a training session. whey protein & water can supply amino acids to skeletal muscle in around 20 minutes while some whole food protein sources can take 2 hours...
 
She is allergic to many things including dairy, whey, eggs and oats. I suggested to her soy protein powder.

if that is the case then using 10 grams of BCAA's and some simple sugars would be the best bet for recovery and increasing anabolism....something like ICE would be perfect for her to use post workout...
 
whats BCAA and ICE?
I want to stay away from any chemicals/suppliments though.
