Well, its been two years about since i started working out and ive had no elbow pains whatsoever. But for the past week or so when i DB press, Military Press, and Tricep extensions, their is this slight pain in the right elbow, its not severe, i can still continue with the exercise. What might be causing it? Should i take a break from lifting, it could be that all those lifts have finally caught up to me :( I really hope its nothing serious. The pain is a little bit agitating, and its gotten a bit worse than it use to be. First noticed it during Skullcrushers.

tendonittis.

ice, rest, repeat.

on a side note....I gave up skull crushers and have not done them is years because they give me so much pain in my elbow, even with really light weight.

Take at least 2 weeks off....4 would be better, if you dont you could be looking at 6+ months off if you have tennis elbow

Ahh, i c. So i gotta call it quits for a couple of weeks? I just started getting fit for the summer too :(

If you put in 2 hard years of training you will lose 0 from taking 4 weeks off...just a bit of endurance and thats it. Keep the diet tight and you will be fine, plus you can do legs and cardio. One of the biggest culprits of elbow problems is straight bar curls, drop them for good and do DB work for biceps...also Db rows to replace BB rows.

^i never do straight bar curls, i go to a highschool gym usually nice and quiet, occasionally there are the guys who come in, think they're "buff" and begin to do straight bar curls in the squat rack and sometimes i need to use it anyways, its probably from the skullcrushers. My elbow doesnt hurt now though, just when i do the exercises, no pain after...Just got back from a shoulder day.

the same thing happened to me - but only doing tricep extensions/skullcrushers not military press or anything els, then i stopped doing skullcrushers or any tricep extensions for about a week and know i do overhead tricep extensions and its fine now

You could still work your lower body with anything that doesn't involve you using your elbow and do cardio...

You and I both. Hell my left elbow is deformed now from that double tendon tear Xmas 2004 from skullcrushers and they caused me to have surgery on the right elbow back in 1981.

Piss on skulls.

I agree 100%:thumb:
Although it is the only tricep exercise that makes my tris sore for the next few days, I am willing to give them up because they do have a bad effect on my elbows.:finger:

Really? i always get sore elbows, especially with tricep exercises, and sometimes other stuff. I just assumed no pain no gain. someone else told me to suck it up and the pain will go away eventually?

i play hockey, so can't have my elbows getting really messed up. should i not do any tris exercises for a while?

i suffer this pain in the elbows occassionaly ,,, rest , rest , rest.........for 2-3 weaks then when u r back don't knock them again imediatly...if the pain remains contact ur doctor and maybe u'll have to do x-ray maybe it's some sort of inflamation in the joints and tissues..:rocker: :hot:
