just a rant realli...this scenario really ticks me off..

i'm in a locker room, start chatting with a friend.....blah blah blah...then i say i've been working realli hard for while, then the guy looks you up and down and says: "really? i don't see much of a difference man..hahaha..." and turns away with a smirk..

Boy, this kinda shit really tests my motivation...despite the fact most people i see tell me that i'm getting bigger, all it takes is one guy's shitty remarks to bring me down..anything like this ever happen to anyone here?

Sure has happened to me over and over again, not like your particular situation but similar, it really pissed me off but gave me more drive and determination to say F U and improve beyond where that ass thinks he is, always gonna be someone who is bigger and better than you, but there is also always gonna be someone who THINKS they are bigger and better than you..... use it to your advantage :)

yeh...i can't stand it when people with good genes but don't train for shit start giving me that crap...bastards

anyway i used them for motivation in the gym today and lifted a lot heavier and more intense than i ever had...

Sounds like a crappy workout-partner you've got there Overdrive. If that is in fact what he is. If it isn't then don't even pay attention to him as he is obviously only trying to make himself look good by bringing you down.
Keep up the hard work. Remember that it only matters how YOU and ONLY you think you look!

nope the guy's not a workout partner...

the most annoying thing about this stuff is how they seem to take delight in putting down the hard work and sacrifices you put in...like they get off on it or something..stupid fucks.i always find words of encouragement for friends trying to build themselves up..

man there are some shitty people around

Overdrive: You're right. There are many shitty people around. The trick is to ignore them. Nothing good will come out of listening to negative people...so why bother?

That's why I do minimal talking about weights in the sense of how much I'm pushing to friend's and strangers. I just let my actions speak louder than words. Hmmn.. sometimes it's a whisper!

I hate when I am in the locker room, just out of the shower and covered only by a towel, and another dude tells me I smell nice. Yes, this has happened to me.

:twitch:

When this situation occurs with the people I work with, I usually just pick them up with one hand until their feet are off the ground. Then I ask them, "Say again?"

If I can't pick them up, then they are my focus for anger during my next workou. They become my barbell.

Hahahaha, pore baboon, looks like you've got a friend there. ;)

There's an asswhole in every crowd Overdrive, just ignore the little prick.

How long have u been working out for? Maybe there isnt much difference. When i first began lifting i was the only person who could see the differences in my body.

Yeah, but if someone you knew said that they'd been working really hard, would you say "really? i don't see much of a difference man..hahaha..." Thats just rude.

5lb plate to the back of the head!!

I try to be supportive to everyone in the gym....except the people that annoy me.

No shit, unless he's a buddy giving you constructional critisism you don't say stuff like that. That really makes a guy want to quit, don't let it get to ya bro.

He doesn't sound like much of a friend to me

I'd dump his ass for some intelligent friends :thumb:

At least he didn't say that you smelled bad.

that sucks! do your best not to let it get to you. in fact turn it around and use it to motivate you even more.

some people think they can build themselves up by tearing other people down. backwards thinking if you ask me.

actually that's one of my favorite things about these boards - for the most part people are very eager to encourage and praise eachother and realize that it doesn't take away from them one bit. it does the opposite.

Gold soldier : i've been doing it for 3.5 months, gained 12 pounds and lost some fat ..although i ain't big yet, i think it's a pretty obvious change..

thanks for the boost people!..am going work harder and make them eat their words! :thumb:

Idiots like that only fuels me to do better, so long as you don't let it get at you to the point where you 'overtrain' etc, if nothing else it helps keep your diet in check because the constant locked down high protein needs can be hard to follow at times, since it is such a highly 'abnormal' diet to eat 6 times a day of quality meals, not just junk.
