Ever try rubber bands?

Do you EVEN FUQQING care?
I was working out with my strength coach the other day when he pulls out a bunch of rubber tubing called Theraband.

We were working bench so he tied the bands to two 100lb dumbells and placed them on the floor under the bar at the bench. He then looped the therabands over the ends of the bar and loaded up my usual plates.

Good Lord, when I first tried to lift the bar I could feel the tension of the bands pushing the bar toward me. Then at the bottom I was forced to explode the get the lift up. It was awesome.

Anyhoo, I was just wondering if anyone else has tried this. The other people at my gym were looking at us kind of strange, but then a couple of them seemed kind of interested in what we were doing.

I'm sore as hell today, I can barely move.

I've seen a rubberband play.

I think the bands help in the negative resistence so that there is always tension on the muscle. I could be wrong...

Interesting, I guess the resistance would increase as you stretch the band so the weight your pushing would increase with the range of motion.

Yes I've tried it. I am thinking of purchasing some online.
I have played around with them on other exercises such as dumbell curls.
Yes, people do look at you weird.
