Ever wonder where your gasoline money goes? This will leave you gasping for air!!!!!!

Status: Real photos; inaccurate description.

anyway, my daddy got a photographer to take a few quick snaps..no biggy :)

if you look a bit further down though...

Origins: These pictures are indeed real photographs of an impressive palatial structure, but ??? contrary to the claims made in the accompanying text ??? they evidently do indeed depict a hotel, not a private home. These are images of the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates), a facility that "boasts 302 superior rooms and 92 magnificent suites each combining the ultimate in luxury with 22nd century technology." (How they managed to obtain technology a hundred years in advance of the stuff available to the rest of us is something we haven't yet figured out.)

As the Emirates Palace Hotel's web site describes the accommodations offered (or soon to be offered) there:

All Palace rooms offers plasma screens, interactive TV's and high speed Internet access.

8 restaurants representing cuisine from across the globe will be opening in December 2004 with 10 additional outlets scheduled to open in 2005. Internationally branded specialty restaurants will include Iranian, seafood, Mediterranean, Arabic, and Asian cusine complemented by a number of relaxing lounges and cafes.

A selection of the worlds most exclusive brands in luxury jewellery and fashion for the discerning shopper.

The longest private beach in Abu Dhabi, 1.3 km of golden sands and two stunning pools artistically landscaped on the east and west wings of the Palace.

Two Spa fit for kings and queens will be located in the east and west wings, featuring a luxury line of beauty products along

Emirates Palace will be home to the best Marina UAE with private berths for yachts. Full Service facilities will be available as well as leisure facilities.

Yeah I know its a hotel, but damn!

Well, when I was younger I stayed at "The Lost Palace" in South Africa...that was really nice. Also if you want a pretty nice hotel you should look at the Burj Al Arab in Dubai, its a 7 star hotel. There are loads of nice hotels around the world..I remember staying in a huge Castle in Cordoba in Spain...

..But yea I gotta admit it is pretty damn nice :)

Yea, UAE has some really nice places. I spent 4 months in that country back in 1997-98. Very nice.

We don't import that much oil from the Mid-East. Your title should read:

This is why we are fighting so many bitter assed Arabs because a handful of rich assholes in their nations who own the oil fields or made their family fortunes on it spend all their money hiring foreigners to build their palaces and buying foreign goods and hiring dumb American Blondes for their harems. They don't circulate their fortunes within their communities so the poor stay dirt poor and get angry at us because our "infidel ways" have muddled the minds of their wealthy "bretheren". What they don't realize is that we have to deal with our own rich assholes who like to make their buddies richer by giving them the contracts to rebuild a country which we just blew to smithereens.

"Huh, huh get this I'll send our troops over there and we'll blow up a bunch of their cities, right. And then I'll give you a few hundred billion dollars to go and fix it back up. Heres the good part our dumb lower class americans will pay for the whole thing. Wonderful plan huh? Oh I got you this bottle of wine from France and these Cuban cigars to celebrate."

I prefer Spanish Red for a start....:)

But lets be honest ....politics has always been like that and will be like that for centuries to come...

Politicians salaries for their qualifications are pretty shit, they make their money by fucking the public in the ass whenever they get the chance, and by going on Boards of companies and taking up directorships...

You need to take a look at the homes that the top oil company execs. live in. Afterall, the Arabs are only getting $60+/- for a barrel of oil. The damned oil companies are getting $2.00+ per GALLON of fuel. Now tell me who's getting rich. All of this led to historic record profits for Q305.

My wife just returned from a week-long trip to Dubai. Aparently they are going to run out of oil in that area (they estimate within the next 7 to 10 years). They are erecting these massive hotels and tourist attractions in the hopes of being able to sustain themselves on tourist funds when the oil runs out.
