Last summer I weighed 310 lbs mostly fat. I decided also last summer I was going to lose it now this summer I weight 234 @21% bf and dropping about a lb or 2 a week. Well I have started noticing that I am starting to get rinkely skin on the stomach and I was wondering if there was a product to use to prevent this or get rid of it. I plan to lose another 20 lbs and don't want it to get to bad.
Also does any one know if theis loose wrinkly skin will go away on it's own with time.

Thanks

i had that too when i lost about sixty pounds over one summer. it tightened up over time with me but i know that people who make huge drops sometimes have surgey to correct it

Congrats on your weight loss. Speaking from personal experience (and the experience of my wife, who lost over 115lbs.), its very rare that the skin will bounce back and will probably have to be removed via surgery. Usually, the faster you lose, the more likely you will have loose skin.

Eskimo is correct. I've lost 155lbs. I'm officially done losing but the skin remains. The older you are the more there will be. Skin elasticity is less and less as years pass. I'm lucky I lost it early or I'd have much more than I do.

If you are under 35 there is a good chance it will at least partially snap back. Of course the longer you let it go the less likely you are that your skin is still elastic. IE if you were over 300lbs for 3 years there is a greater likelihood of it snapping back than if you were that heavy for 15 years.

I believe some people use vitamin E, but that may just be fpr stretch marks, I can't remember.

I am pretty much happy with the amount of skin that has shrank and for what is left I can not see paying fo rsurgery. I will just continue to hope it will go away. I dropped to 232 this weekend and am really getting back into my diet. and wanting to get to 220. I will see what happens with my skin. I had to go shopping for clothes this weekend and fit into large shirts and my waist size is now 36 with room to breath. every couple of lbs I lose now takes about 2 weeks with out a great diet. maybe being back on the diet will help to get me to 2 to 4 lbs a week.
Congrats on everyones losses.

There is a great post somewhere (I cant remember who posted or where it was posted) about someone who recently had a tummy tuck (I think.) Scary stuff.

The only creme i seen work is Thiomucase creme. a friend who now competes in NPC told me about it.

no, the skin is basically damaged, it has been stretched beyond what it can tolerate. plastic surgery can remove the excess skin, but stretch marks and the wrinkles are permanent. sorry.
