Tennessee state Rep. Kelly Keisling (R) on Tuesday morning forwarded an email to his constituents that warned President Barack Obama was planning to impose martial law and indefinitely delay the November elections.
The Huffington Post reported that the email was sent from Keisling?s state email account to residents across the state?s 38th district.
?Republicans in the legislature are bound and determined to turn Tennessee into a laughing stock with their ridiculous antics,? Tennessee Democratic Party Chairman Chip Forrester said. ?For Kelly Keisling to use state resources to send out a rumor-filled and dangerous email is an egregious abuse of power and tax payer dollars.?
The email, originally written by Florida-based conservative blogger Joe Angione, said there were unconfirmed rumors that Obama planned to stage an assassination attempt on his own life. The incident would be blamed on white supremacists, stirring racial unrest and allowing the President to impose martial law across the nation

That was a rumor for GWB in his last term.

It must be true... all conspiracies are.

lol... I saw a commercial on TV that said everything on the internet is true, so there you have it:clapping:

I call BS, but sadly if it happens..... not all that surprized the way things are nowadays..

Although I would not put it past him. This is utter BS. It was circulated when Bill Clinton was president, when Bush II was president and it was only a matter of time before this would come out with Obama's name on it.

toby can't swim...let him go on a cruise ship!!!

you'd be extremely dangerous if you had a functioning brain. historically assignations of the rulers of country's that are autocrats is used to cause economic destruction which can help a country move towards democracy. when the ruler has been elected via a democracy it's effects are subtle.

given the status and current outlook of the US economy no good would come out of an assassination of the present POTUS or any future POTUS. lobbying in the US has severely distorted and perverted democracy and capitalism in this country to it's extremes.

Uhm Jimmy.....where is the link for this? An email?

Also, an 'assassination' attempt CANNOT stop an election.

Put up your feet, breathe deep, and crack a beer.

I wouldn't put it past the guy to pull shit like that. Look what others have done to win elections. Wether it was a rumor or not good thing it got out IMO

Heres a similar story

I blame obama if my toilet backs up

Jimmy.....We're waiting for your answer.....

How can Romney talk about appealing Obamacare? Afterall, it's the same plan he implemented in Mass. He kinda reminds me of Kerry; he was for it before he was against it. That being said, I don't wanna see Obama get another four years without having to worry about re-election. Poor Obama. If he's elected, he's going to inherit one helluva mess.

the individual healthcare mandate was a conservative proposal from back in the late 80's in opposition to Clinton's healthcare reform. one more thing the GOP was for but now are against (when the Dems become for it). just like the carbon emissions tax another GOP proposal from the past, that they are now against.

here it is right on the Heritage Foundation's website
Assuring Affordable Health Care for All Americans

the reason being, both sides press the same agenda, BIGGER GOVERNMENT, all the peripherals along the way are just added bonus for us taxpayers:)

that's funny you would use heritage foundation, as I know how much you give them credit for accuracy. you cannot have it both ways, oh wait, yes you can you're a democrat! lol

I used Heritage because unlike many of you I've been following this stuff my whole life and not just since 2009. And I love the Heritage site as it provides a great source of comical relief because the views there are not expressed by any economists anywhere else in the world. That may have something to do with the number of papers the economists there have had heavily cited in the past 40 years, which is ZERO. I remember all of the things that the GOP was for before they were against it, and the date of the posting shows the era which was 1989.

The National Debt Simply Explained:

This rather brilliantly cuts through all the political doublespeak we get. I think it puts the national debt issue into a much better perspective.

Lesson # 1:

* U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
* Fed budget: $3,820,000,000,000
* New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
* National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
* Recent budget cuts: $ 38,500,000,000

Let's now remove 8 zeros and pretend it's a household budget:

* Annual family income: $21,700
* Money the family spent: $38,200
* New debt on the credit card: $16,500
* Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
* Total budget cuts so far: $3.85

Got It ?????

OK now Lesson # 2: Here's another way to look at the Debt Ceiling:

Let's say, You come home from work and find there has been a sewer backup in your neighborhood....and your home has sewage all the way up to your ceilings.

What do you think you should do ......?

Raise the ceilings, or pump out the crap?

Your choice is coming Nov. 2012.

lol... "many of you", humh...by that comment are you insinuating common folk weren't interested in politics until BHO took residence in 1600 Pennsylvania? If not, please elaborate for me.

haha, I get it, you may enjoy more (_______) by not overthinking things so often, and the date was clear and easy to read, but thanks for pointing it out anyway. irrelevant question: Are you this serious all the time?

well it's quite obvious because a large percentage of the US population actually thought the economy was "good" in the 2000's before the housing market crash. the economy where US households had reached historical levels of debt and US home values were rising at historical levels yet there was no real increase in wages in 4 of the 5 income quintiles.

that which is unsustainable will not be sustained. that statement is not only economics 101 but world history.

* and no in the real world I'm considered one of the biggest joksters around according to my friends because I have a extremely stress free life
